I took a (long) break from my list of items I can get to easily. Can I just declare myself in now for every future thread??
No buying unnecessary toiletries/makeup in May: Unnecessary spend £17.60

  • Somebody said GlossyBox sends the best stuff to the bloggers, and I totally agree. It launched here in Canada this month. Huge outcry. The bloggers that got complementary boxes got Essi Nail Polish and a huge sample of scented body lotion. Those of us who payed for the box never got the nailpolish (we got a shampoo sample) and a sample vial of the perfume.

The boxes were a huge disappointment to many because we lurked through the UK boxes and you guys got way better stuff than we did.

Right, my INs from ages ago that I hadn't managed to update into my stash.:o

Nelsons Pure & Clear Purifying Daily Facial Wash - This was a win.:)
Nelsons Pure & Clear Balancing Moisturiser - This was a win. :)
Nelsons Pure & Clear Purifying Daily Facial Wipes - This was a win. :)
Nelsons Pure & Clear Blemish Gel - This was a win. :)
Natracare Organic Cotton Intimate Wipes - This was a win. :)
Boots Coconut & Almond Leave-in Conditioner - I've actually had this for ages.:o It was in my drawer with my hairdryer but when we moved into our flat, I put it in the bathroom and then forgot to add it to the list.:o
Avon Naturals Body Sugar Plum & Vanilla Hand & Body Lotion - I got this from a lovely friend for Christmas. :D
Imperial Leather Soft Touch Moisturising Bath Cream with Jojaba Milk & Vitamin E - Bought this the other day because I had run out of bubble bath
Head & Shoulders Anti-Dandruff Shampoo Sachet - I can't use H&S because I have coloured hair so I'll most likely give it to DH
The Body Shop White Musk Libertine Eau De Toilette - I can't remember where I got this from but I just found it in the bathroom

    That's it. Phew!

Philosophy Snow Angel bath and shower gel - WNBA as I didn't love the fragrance but I love Philosophy in general.

Has anyone tried the Philosophy products as shampoo? It says on the bottle Bath foam, Shower gel and shampoo but I'm not sure if it might be to harsh on my colour damaged hair! Opinions welcome.....:D

Hi Dollypop, I too love Philosophy shower gels (have not got on with any of their skincare though) and have some firm favourites: Cinnamon Buns, Amazing Grace, Pure Grace and Double Hot Cocoa. I also loved a couple that seem to have been discontinued: Fresh Cream (I had this a couple of years ago in one of the Cookbook sets released at Christmas) and Pumpkin Spiced Muffin although I bought Harvest Spice last year and to me smells exactly the same so am pleased. I have the Snow Angel one in stash (picked up in the Boots Sale) so yet to try. Some that I haven't liked though are Gingerbread Man, Red Velvet Cake, Cinnamon Dots and the citrussy one released last year called Glow something or other.

To answer your question though I think I've used it a couple of times as a shampoo and I think it was fine but unfortunately I am not all :money: yet as I think I'm still influenced by the con instilled in me by QVC that you have to have separate products to do certain jobs. Maybe I'll get there one day!

    12. Liz Earle Instant Boost Tonic (30ml) - very nice but WNBA as I prefer other toners that are cheaper

Hi Willowbee I've been trying to find an alternative to LE for a long time but haven't managed it. The only alternative I had found that was good was Boots Botanics Rosewater but that is now drying my skin out. Once this bottle has gone I'm going to return to LE for the winter months I think. What other cheaper toners have you used?

Must admit i'm another one who is bad at remembering to wear makeup, only manage i once or twice a week at the moment and i was wearing it less than that till recently, but i still seem to like buying the stuff. During the week i just don't have time to do makeup, but try and put a little on if i need to go into meetings. I feel like i should be wearing in more often now i'm getting older, but i think they'd wonder what was upif i started to come to work fully made up. Once i've used some up i should prob start looking for something quick to apply and very natural looking.

I would highly recommend Laura Geller Balance N Brighten if you want a base that's natural looking.

Had a very MSE day today, switched from virgin to sky this morning, will be saving £16 a month and got £100 cash back on quidco, will also get £40 back from virgin. And one of my survey sites got to £10, so that will be a John Lewis voucher to buy my next liz Earle eyebright :)

We're looking at switching from virgin to sky as well although just the TV package. How do you get £40. back from virgin? The deal MrM has seen on Quidco includes cashback and an M&S voucher. Is it just me or does there seem to be absolutely nothing worth watching at the mo - am hoping access to Sky Atlantic and the movies will be more appealing. Although The Vampire Diaries is back in a couple of weeks so I get my Damon fix again.

2 more UU's after tonight's bath. Alberto balsam shampoo WIBA?: Yes, love every flavour of this although DD's not keen on the coconut smell so we avoid that one. It's cheap and suits everyone in the family's hair. Ted Baker men's tools shower gel WIBA?: Gift of DH's, he isn't that fussed by what's in stock. I used it up though because I noticed that he'd opened up an aloe vera soap. He thought he'd finished the shower gel (I wonder why it was left on the side of the bath then?).
Off to update my stash list post.

This really bugs me when I find bottles that are very nearly finished just left on the side. Both MrM and Emma think I have a problem re: buying toiletries but now don't get the MSE side of me that cuts open all the tubes and gets the very last bits out. I can't win! Think I'm gonna finish their dregs later when I shower cos it's bugging me seeing them there.

2 INs for me yesterday but am not going to the naughty step as I bought them with birthday vouchers from John Lewis.

Decleor Herbal Clay Mask - I love this and have been without a tube for sooooo long. This mask instantly brightens my skin. It's not cheap though - at full price it's £27.50 a tube which is what I "paid" yesterday. I have a couple of Elemis masks in my stash but they're not clay ones and don't give the same results so thought I would treat myself again.

OPI nail lacquer thinner. Another MSE streak coming out in me. I can't face chucking away the 2 x bottles of Nail Envy I have on the go as they have gone gloopy so have used this to thin one of them out. Not sure it's worked as the consistency has gone very thin but hey ho.

Went to the hairdressers yesterday and also repainted my nails. Am wearing my new OPI Did you Ear about Van Gogh and am still deciding whether I like it or not.

  • Hi VALM,

I'll be disconnected from virgin on 19th march and because my bills are paid a month in advance, the guy said I would get a cheque back for around £40. I'm only signing up for sky phone and broadband. At christmas time, my dad won a radio competition and gave me the winnings... An iPad and free sky tv for a year! So no paying for tv at the moment!!

Hope you find the deal you're looking for xxxx

Hi everyone, 3 more UU to report -

Sure Crystal Deo - WBA, it does the job. I always have 2 on the go, one at home and then one in my locker at work, that's how I get through deo so quickly!

Too Faced Shadow Insurance - There is probably still a little bit in there if I were to cut the tube open but I've had it so long that I will just chuck it because it's started to go a little funny towards the end. On to my mini Urban Decay Primer Potion which will probably be used up quite quickly because I can't stand the bottle shape and can't be bothered cutting it all open either! WBA when the UD has gone!

Mini S&G Clean on me - This is in my stash of products at my OH's flat. WNBA, it's too thick and leaves a bit of a coating on my skin. On to the Bayliss and Harding Lavender set I got for christmas!

Also any idea if the Dove 2 for £4 haircare offer is in store at Boots? I have one more use left in my oil treatment conditioner from them and well, it's £3.86 a tube usually so 2 for £4 is a bargain. Don't really want to start ordering online at Boots because I will just add loads of things to my order just to get the free delivery to store option. Also if i take the OH with me he will stop me from buying stuff I don't need!

I have not used the OPI thinner, but with the Seche one I add a couple of drops, shake, try etc adding a small amount at a time.

I have the LG Balance & Brighten in the medium, ok for summer but a little too dark for winter, but thought it dried my skin, so bought Smashbox which I love, perhaps I need to up the moisturiser to use B&B, will try it again and see.

Another UU Garnier BB Crem 1.5ml sample light - WNBA even though it was supposed to be light I found it to be too dark for me and it left my skin a bit too shiny. To be honest my skin look better with out it and its too fragranced fo me. Not sure wether to keep remaining samples to try it in the summer when i have a bit more colour or to give them to someone else to try.
