O2 upgrade but keeping old phone
Options
I've just negotiated a new deal with O2 and my new phone should be arriving soon.
However I intend to sell it rather than keep it. Do I put the new sim which I think comes with the phone into my old phone or do I just keep the old sim in?
2nd question is about O2 Treats. Can I get them even though I have negotiated a discount on my renewal contract?

Put the new sim in your old phone and discard the old sim card. As for O2 treats I'm not entirely sure about that.0

Put the new sim into your OLD phone if you are selling the new phone.
Sorry don't know anything about 02 treats.MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!0 -
Just checked about the O2 treats and as long as you have been a customer for 6 months then you qualify for them.0

I was reading through the terms & conditions which talked about First Loyalty discounts and losing them if you took O2 Treats.
Didn't want to lose my £10pm renewal discount but wasn't sure if it was the same thing.0 -
If you are not bothered about making video calls, then you can still use the old sim in your old phone, otherwise use the new one. Continuing to use the old sim will save you the hassle of transferring your contacts and/or messages to the new one.0

I just renewed with a retention offer, and added a Treat a few days later.0

That's a thought. I think most of mine are stored on the phone at the moment though.0 -
New phone arrived but didn't have a new sim with it anyway. Presumably because the Nokia E50 is not a 3g phone?0

You should certainly be able to get the O2 treats. I do. I've been a customer of O2 for 5 years though, each time I swear I'll leave and get better customer service elsewhere, but they always offer me such a good deal I can't leave.
Currently paying £10/month for 100 texts and 100 minutes; BUT they also give me £100 credit each year for not upgrading the phone. so...£20/year...
It's not worth upgrading phone if you're not intending to use it!0 -
I haven't decided whether to use it yet or not.
Basically it was £75 credit if I didn't take the phone. However it's going on ebay for an average of £150 hence the reason I took it.0
