What happens when Orange don't sell my phone anymore with Orange Care:)

Hello,

I am a clumsy 16 year old and last August I got a Samsung Galaxy S2 from Orange, I was just wondering because the Galaxy S3 maybe getting released soon what would Orange do if I broke my phone and needed another through Orange Care and they didn't sell the S2 anymore?

I've looked through the terms and conditions of Orange care but it says nothing about this and I thought that the good people at MSE could help me.

Thank you
Jack :)

    It does say:
Replacement of Your Mobile Device will be made with an Orange branded product. The replacement product will wherever possible be of the same or similar specification at Our discretion. The replacement may be from refurbished stock that has been tested and is fully functional.
Orange Care General Terms and Conditions

I don't think that they will run out of refurbished S2 in the nearest future.
  • I know what you're saying but since i've got this for 2 years i'm sure they won't stock refurbs for the next 2 years really, if they didn't stock them what would happen?

They'll have them in stock for ages but if for some reason they do run out of stock they'd send you something of equivalent spec ie the HTC Sensation

They'll continue to sell the phone even when the S3 is out anyway. Look at the iPhone. They still sell the 3GS

You would get a new to you handset (as people have said) and yours would got for repair, and that phone would then go out to someone else.

Chances are you will get a repaired S2 from a clumsy 16 year old who broke his phone the pervious month, it will have been back to to see Mr Samsung, been refurbed, and come to be swapped out for yours.

So, you seem to agree that the OP definitely will not get SGS3?
That said, your analogy with iPhone doesn't work. Orange do keep selling 3GS, but they don't sell SGS anymore.
