Yes, looks like it.
They're a business and will want to keep costs down, what would you expect them to do and what would you do in their position?
If you've taken Vehicle Replacement Insurance out that's what they provide.
If you don't want to use that dealer, I doubt the Insurer would have a problem if you speak to other dealers and ask them to match the lower price the Insurers negotiated.0 -

So in other words that's what then can do and there is nothing wrong/illigal about it ...(?)
If that the case then that's fine - it just seemed strange to me - such deals under the table or behind a (my) back ... so wanted to make sure ...
Thanks again for your help!0 -
Were you expecting to go to a dealer, not negotiate the price and keep the £2500 for yourself?
There will be something in your policy about them being able to negotiate.
If they handled claims in the way you were expecting, some of their clients would deliberately write their cars off to make a few thousand pounds from Car Care Plan.0 -
but then, they contacted me and told me that they substracted £2500 from the difference (my final payout) because they spoke to the dealer and they agreed between themselves (CCP and the dealer) that the dealer would give me £2500 disount if I wanted to buy the car from them (obvoiusly I wouldn't get discount anywhere else).
They've done you a favour, you don't have the displeasure of negotiating with a car salesman - its been done for you.0 -

It's not a deal behind your back - you're already up by having a brand new car out of it.
