Multi fuel stoves

Hi

Im looking for advice on multi fuel stoves. Ive been looking for over a week now and there are so many choices.

Prices range from £300 - £1200(without flue mainly). From looking on sites ive seen the Town and Country Little Thurlow - Clearview Pioneer 400 - Aga - Ludlow - Yeoman CL5 and Clearburn Lovernholm.

I can only have a 5KW in my room.

Can anyone advise which one of the above (if any) are the best and why

Thanks

  • Hi,

Town and Country Little Thurlow - Clearview Pioneer 400 - Aga - Ludlow - Yeoman CL5 and Cleanburn Lovernholm.

Any of the above stoves which you have mentioned are quality stoves and would serve you well, which is best is just opinion.
When burning wood, the quality of wood is more important than the stove.

I would choose the style you like best from the above and you wont go far wrong.

    Regards

    Willie.

There is about £300 difference between them all. What do you have ???
  • Hello again,

I have a Yeoman Exe single door, very happy with it, there is a photo on one of the threads (Post your stove pictures here) I think it's called.

    regards

    Willie.

I have a Little Thurlow and love it! It is my only form of heating and is more than sufficient for the cottage. That said I do have a Vulcan fan on top of it which helps to move the hot air around. I can keep it in all day (8 until 7pm) with anthracite and keep it in overnight with wood. It is easy to control and has a nice big glass area for staring at the flames. I am certainly more than happy with it.

We have an Aarrow Acorn 5. Have only burnt wood on it so far though. Made in Britain as well http://www.aarrowfires.com/

Have a look at Vermont castings. I have been looking for a burner for months. For me, these seem to be the most attractive and of the highest quality.
