I agree with the above.0 -
OMG this is the most fascinating thread I've ever read. .
I am very sorry if this lady is mentally ill, but that does not excuse her from being rude to total strangers. If she was truly, totally bonkers would she still be living on her own? Surely Social Services would be involved?
Sounds to me like she is rich, bored, lonely and gets a bit of a kick out of ordering people around. It is totally inappropriate to expect someone you've never met to spend £££ on your shopping though -I mean what if you got there and she said 'I meant the M and S foie gras not the Waitrose' and refused to pay your money back?
Also I can't imagine what she's paid over the years for the ad in the guardian. It's not a small ad, and in a national newspaper can't be cheap.0 -

How are they causing harm to her? If she comes on here and reads the threads about her it may give her a bit of a wake up call as to her behaviour0 -

Which simply demonstrates you know nothing about mental health issues.
Has it really not occurred to the two stalkers (one who claims to be experienced in working in social care) the danger they have placed this lady in ? Also if as they claim they have contacted this lady -or have worked for her there will be a record of this. It takes one complaint directing social services or the police to this thread and the odds of them getting traced with the personal info they've posted about themselves (let alone if MSE could be compelled to release PMs no idea if they could be but it seems likely if an offence has deemed to be committed) are high. Wave bye bye to any future career in social care or anything else that needs a CRB in that situation.
Makes the advertiser's actions seem quite sane by comparison -doesn't it !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -

Depending upon the type, severity and the way in which her hypothetical illness manifests itself, it kind of is an 'excuse' to be rude - this is why mental illness is so poorly understood. If she was truly, totally bonkers would she still be living on her own? Surely Social Services would be involved?
It's very easy to slip through the cracks of the care system, or to just refuse help if you don't want it (or think you don't need it). So long as this lady is causing no real harm to herself or others, intervention can't be forced.0 -

Calm down - No one has been to anyone's house!0 -
I have asked the forum team to look at this thread - people poking fun at/ making judgments about a mentally ill person who does not even have the right of reply is not what this board is about.0
