Who was the ticket with - Metro? That's rather poor if it specifically said on the ticket you could show it on your phone. Probably worth complaining to whoever issued the ticket to make them aware of the problem at that cinema.

I agree, when you complain play up on how embarrassing and demeaning it was and you might get some extra free tickets for another movie :)

Yes it was with Metro. I will complain, as obviously there's some miscommunication going on somewhere!

The Metro ticket I have includes "The cinemas reserve the right to refuse admission. In the event of a dispute, the cinema managers decision is final."

What do you think "reserve the right to refuse admission" and "managers decision is final" mean?

I can see your point but to refuse to allow people who have abided by the conditions of the offeras stipulated just isn't good business sense.

Conditions such as the ones you have mentioned are there to allow them to refuse entry if somebody turns up drunk or to turn away people they believe to be underage.

They are not meant to be for turning away people who have a valid ticket just because they choiose to use a smart phone to disploay their ticket which the conditions of the offer allowed:)

  • Hi all,
I've finally managed to nab a pair of tickets for the Heat screening of Rush at the Covent Garden Odeon tomorrow night but haven't been able to track down a copy of Heat. Has anyone ever been asked to show the magazine/newspaper page at this cinema before?

    Thanks,
    Rebekah

Thank you! I did see those posts but was wondering if anyone had had specific experience of being asked at the Covent Garden Odeon, which I didn't spot on the thread (someone else further up the thread suggested posting specific cinema info for better feedback).
