Went to a SFF screening not so long ago and forgot to take my ticket with me - as the venue was actually 30 miles away from where I live there was no time to go back and get it - does anyone know whether or not they would let you in if you simply hung around until the screening started - maybe in the hope that it was not full up by this time?

If they were feeling generous, they might have let you in!

Perhaps they might if you showed them your ticket on your phone and explained the situation?

Depends how busy it is I suppose and how polite you are!

Well Old Bag.... as I said before- every screening I had been to was only 40% full, so perhaps there are other cities where people have been turned away but not to any of the Edinburgh screenings, in fact one showing in Wester Hailes it was just my friend and I plus another couple.
I am sorry and not just for people's reactions but for what I have been doing it didn't view it as wrong/stealing until I saw other people's point of view. I can't really do anymore but apologise and your cynicism goes well with your username
I must have missed that day at westerhailes i go to all viewings there and they are always full , its the hardest venue to get tickets for in edinburgh because of where it is situated. we were there this moring FULL ticket holders were getting turned away . I wonder why?

I was late from work and didn't have time to go home for the ticket. Showed the usher at Cineworld Bolton the emailed ticket and he was kind enough to let us in after writing down the code on the ticket.

So annoyed got turned away again today at the Bournemouth Odeon. Paid for petrol and parking as I live about 10 miles away. Got there half an hour early and got turned away, this is the third time this has happened to me. do they give out too many tickets? - what is going on? This was for Olympus has Fallen.

Yes I was at Bournemouth ticket says they oversubscribed, but I think there was so many today something dodgy occurred was full by 10.02 and some didn't have the newspaper and they usually require it. Tell showfilmfirst there was so many people and see what they say!
