I'm looking forward to seeing it on Tuesday evening.

Did you read my post (#2308) beforehand or not?

Did it help or would it have?

Is it or would it have been a spoiler in your opinion?

I did read the synopsis you posted, it at least gave a clue as to what was happening but I personally found that it was quite easy to follow, but I do tend to read 3 books at once flitting between them so may be that helped me!

Definately not a spoiler in my opinion, more like a informative trailer!

It helped a great deal afterwards though, trying to work out who played what part, because I found that sometimes I didn't realise who played what:rotfl:

I went before I watched but wanted to go again about 1 1/2 in, I held it to the end though cos I didn't want to miss anything!

Hubby is going again tomorrow with our daughter(25) and I feel quite envious!

Hmm, not sure about Cloud Atlas! It was very complicated and I'm not sure I really understood it all. I've got a headache now!

I'm watching it again tomorrow so will have to see if things become clearer! I'm going to read the synopsis that quoia posted too as I didn't get round to looking at that.

Someone on FMUK posted an infographic, which may help.

    Has anyone read the book?

The infographic looks interesting AND informative ....
Definitely going to study it closely before Tuesday.

You're going to see it again, glutton for punishment ?
Did it seem like nearly 3 hours?
Or more like it would never end or did it fairly "fly by" ?

I'm going to print everything out and have a good read!

I went with my husband this morning and I'm going tomorrow with a mate. I got the Monday tickets first but my husband has wanted to watch it since we saw a poster for it in Poland so I thought it would be useful to go twice as it sounded complicated!

At the beginning, I didn't have a clue what was going on and it dragged and I wasn't really liking it but once I just went with it and stopped trying to link the stories, it was much more enjoyable. It didn't feel like three hours as I wasn't that fidgety or achey!

As I've seen it described elsewhere, definitely a bit of a marmite film!!
  • I didn't like it much when I thought I would. Too long overall, although each individual story too short. That sounds a touch contrary but each story lacked depth.

This felt like it should have been split into multiple films, or perhaps a TV mini-series.

If you are going to see the film, it really is worth reading the synopsis beforehand. I still couldn't work out who some of the characters in the future were supposed to have been in the past.

And it is rather long, nearly three hours, so visit the facilities before the film starts !

That's great. Thanks for informing 100,000 people about 2 tickets.

So you'll inform the same 10,000 of this also? Keep to this thread, else you'll just end up p'ing off a lot of people (You get some very fiery people round these parts)

I really really really wish there was an option when posting in the cinema ticket 'no chat' thread that makes users check a box to 'confirm' that their post is NOT CHAT.
    =)
  • Also would like a rule that says the reposting of a cinema code, just because it is a clickable link, is not allowed. Would really help streamline the thread.

Perhaps a way to suggest edits to somebody else's thread - approval coming from the board guides?
    =)

Oh that would be so wonderful. Likewise when people repost with venue lists and then someone reposts again cause it might not be 100% aligned. More and more alerts are sent.

It is 2013, these people are using the internet all the time, they are using a forum. You go to disneyscreenings.com or paramount or showfilmfirst and enter the code for the venue list and availability. Just one post with a new code or ticket opportunity, please.

Or perhaps vBulletin has an option to include all new post contents in email alerts?
I appreciate this all really needs a specially designed site but I guess moneysavingexpert has such a huge user base the payoff is worthwhile.
  • Just got out of bed to check the cinema thread and it's chat, again! (turning the phone on silent now, don't care if I get any emails!)

Why are people so anti-authority? Perhaps we should rename it to the 'Chat as much as you like' thread. Reverse psychology?

    Lol....

I read that & was thinking the same, you're complaining about alerting people on a film thread about two tickets then said person is alerting people to nothing at all,so that's even worse than saying you put two tickets back. :rotfl:

Would have been more helpful to pm the member :)

Editing other peoples threads is frowned upon because the OP could say that they didnt originally write it so its a no no for us.

As its new users that cant post clickable links hopefully as soon as they are able to it will help eliminate the problem but of course as we keep getting new members it will probably always be an issue.

The other issue of people posting on the codes only board that they have returned tickets, I do try to pm them and let them know that its better posted on the chat thread so hopefully that will help.
