Have i missed The Hobbit screenings or are they just not doing any due to popularity? Time is creeping up on the film release date.

Hobbit I due out tomorrow, so I don't think I will be getting to see it for free:cool: ..... but the one film I am prepared to pay to see:p

Hope it lives up to expectations....
..... just thought, many years since I last read the book, but I think there might be several gates in this... and even some boats, but cannot specifically remember a goat, although I could be wrong;)
  • Due to a cancellation, I finally managed to get tickets for 'Life of Pi' in Greenwich on Sunday morning. :j

and we all remember the goat in "Jurassic Park"....., and the goat in the painting in "Notting Hill"..... and the ones in "The men who stared at goats".
  • Well, enjoyed Life of Pi tonight though a bit of a messed-up screening. Having got there, as requested at 6 for a 6:30 film, they showed the film with sound but no picture. Eventually stopped and concluded the 3d wasn't working on that screen, moved us to another screen, got restarted but not till 7 and we ended up with much less good seats. This was Lee Valley Odeon; also the first cinema we were in was seriously filthy. To be fair, they did sort the screening out for us and the eventual projection was perfect. One of the things that these free screening tickets do is give you real insight into the relative merits of local cinemas for when you're paying cold hard cash.

The film was pretty good; my husband found some of the religious aspects irritating, and my daughter said that she thought it was a film that could be enjoyed on a variety of levels and she would like to enjoy it on the shallowest level possible please. I thought the cinematography was just fantastic.

I thoroughly enjoyed Life of Pi and found the different layers of looking at it meant it will be enjoyed by many. The cinematography was very well done and worthy of awards I'm sure.

I am always surprised that people seem to get to the cinema so early for showings as I usually arrive about 6.15 - 6.20 for a 6.30 show and never have a problem.

I saw Life of Pi last week and really enjoyed it. Want to read the book now and see how it compares.

Where do you live? I'm from Norwich and usually get there at 5.40 for a 6.30 showing!! The screenings have become really busy recently and I like to know I've got a decent seat.
