As you're both over 60 would a bus pass be an option? Perhaps you could then go and explore different places on the bus route, some towns do suggested routes for tourists. Tourist Information might be able to give you the infor your're looking for.

Yes thank you, we do that already.

As we live in London we are very fortunate that our `Freedom Pass` covers the underground as well. We often go up to the West End or the City.

Because I work (although not much longer as I am retiring soon) for the NHS we often get free entry to some West Shows so we can literally have an night out for nothing, using the pass to get there.:)
