I bought this phone a month or so ago, at double the price may I add. Well, anyway, it wasn't locked when I got it from Argos, but if you are getting it from orange it may well be, but nokias are usually dead easy to unlock.

It's a great phone to use, I am well chuffed with my one.

Orange have never supplied unlocked phones in my experience, but they are dead easy to unlock using the widely mentioned unlocking websites/urls on this forum.

    Hi All,

Have just unlcoked my phone using a website and phone stated 'Restriction removed' or similar so its working fine with my vodaphone and t mobile sim but won't accept my 3 sim - is this normal? or should it accept a 3 sim like all the others ? or is there a specific code for a 3 unlock???

    many thanks for any help.

    regards

3G SIM, will be for 3G services for which the phone you bought may well not be set up.

Has anyone actually bought a Nokia 2650 and unlocked it using one of these free websites? I can never seem to find it in the list of phones.

I want to buy one of these but don't want to use it on Orange.

OK I got this courtesy of onionz on another forum

    1. Download the code calculator here
    2. Enter 23400003 for MCC+MNC (you'll see "Tesco Mobile (3510i)" comes up).
    3. Type the IMEI of the phone into the top box. You can get the number off the box, or if you happen to have the phone on, type *#06#.
    4. Ensure "V1 Codes" is selected.
    5. Hit the Calculate button.
    6. Use the SEVENTH code listed. Before entering, DEDUCT 1 from the 5th number in the code. So 5 becomes 4, 4 becomes 3, 0 becomes 9 etc...
    7. To enter p, w and + use the * button bottom left on the keypad. Keep pressing until the character you want appears. You can enter the code with no SIM in the phone - ignore the "Insert SIM" message and key it in.
    8. If you've done it right, as soon as you type the final #, "Phone restriction off" appears and you can now use any SIM card in it. If you've done it wrong STOP TRYING and ask for help - you only have limited attempts before it becomes impossible to unlock the phone using codes.

It works as I have unlocked several of these Nokia 2650's
