Sky TV/BB/phone pack versus NTL/Virgin

After years with NTL and disgusted with high cost and poor customer service, I am thinking of getting back to a BT telephone line (£11/month) and taking the SKY TV package of Broadband+phone calls+TV for £15/month.
Does anyone have experience of this deal? Is it as good value as it seems?
Apparently the BB is 2meg (same as my NTL, but is limited to 2Gb/month,) and includes two TV packs. For extra £5/month, I can have free calls to national and 10 other countries.
So that is £11 to BT/line rental, and £20 to Sky ==£31/month.
My current NTL bills average £70/month.
Last straw was when I asked NTL why they advertise BB/TV/phone at £30/ but were charging me £18/BB, £16.50/basic TV+phone+£2 for eve/w/local calls....
they told me if I had phoned I could have asked for the same deal.
So they keep ripping off long term customers who don't check. I said they should give the discount automatically. They said they would not back-date the discount but offered me £8.50 per month discount when I said I would cancel.
Now NTL is Virgin, I think the deal will get worse not better.
Is sky a good move? Thanks.

Hi,
I joined the board to ask almost exactly the same question! I don;t have NTL at present, just Tiscali broadband, a BT phone and a digibox, but this package sounds good. Would like to know what the two Sky mixes are tho' - do you get to choose, and if so what from? Anybody know?

I will be taking this package soon, you can choose 2 from any of the six mixes. Only problem for the base BB is there is a £40 charge but as I plan to order via quidco I will get £50 back.
The other reason I am waiting is that there is a rumour that SKY will issue SKY+ boxes as standard soon or at least will be abolishing the £10 monthly charge.. We shall see.0
