Solar PV novice - Generation Meter Readings

Hi Solar Novice - that really is 'cooking with gas' - my best at 9.98 is with 16 x 235w InstaGen panels (3.92kW) facing just slightly east of south on approx 30 degree roof. I do find the sun to be still rather low yet, but we all know that will improve. Not sure what make the inverter is - it is up in the atic, so well out of sight - does it make a difference?Solar_Novice wrote: »Hi Evader
What a difference in a couple of days:
I had my best day yesterday since installation - during a record breaking week, yesterday I generated 7.65kW from my 8-panel 2kW system!
I am also very new to this as was only installed during 1st week of December - just in time to get the full rate FiT.
The monitoring devices I am using both came as freebies over recent years from 2 different leccy suppliers. Very fortunate that I can easily access the necessary cables:D

Waiting for our install and trying to pick up tips so thanks to all.0

I'm glad I had the inverter put in a bedroom cupboard !!
Easy to check the production :j And if error messages come up I'll see them.
Only snag is... big pile of clothes to deal with

Good luck with that Beansy, hope it all goes well. Make a point of ensuring you can either get at the inverter easily, or have a remote monitor installed; well worth the effort believe me and something I wish I'd had the foresight to do.Nothing was ever achieved without enthusiasm!0 -

Certainly easier to deal with a pile of clothes than fight your way past the cold water storage and header tanks and the central heating header too. I understand the technical logic of installing my inverter where they did, but from an accessibility aspect it's a disaster.

Thank you for your kind post.
They wanted to put it in the loft but we have a meter cupboard in the front hall and my husband has insisted they put it in there as it is really accessible.
We have a 30 degree South facing roof on our bungalow. Paid our deposit and waiting for the installation by Solarlec.0 -

Excellent; that'll make monitoring really easy. Give hubby a special hug for that one!
Let us know how the installation and your first days of generation go.
