what reason can i give to stop carers allowance
Comments
-
Stopping the benefit is the easy bit, just tell them you no longer want it, you dont need a reason to NOT want it. It seems strange if you are perfectly entitled to it, to turn it down.
My Son has special needs and I get a carers allowance for looking after his needs, I am neither ashamed nor embarrassed to be claiming for it.
Some on here who are quite vocal and clearly anti benefits would say that you should be ashamed and embarrassed in claiming any benefit!
But on the other hand you yourself are attempting to belittle the OP with your comments -

As I was saying, you cannot win if you claim a benefit.
You are either made to feel like scum or branded a 'scrounger & parasite' if you claim them, yet if you don't, you are made to feel 'strange, odd, unusual' if you don't!
On the other hand, I must admit if everyone put the claim in for every benefit they are deemed by the government to be entitled to, there just wouldn't be the money available to go round!
So the government always work on the premise that the DWP budget will always underspend by up to 30%, which results in them being able to say that there is help out there and at the same time plough back the unclaimed money into the Treasury coffers as the time limits to claim by had run their course!!
You just cannot win!!!0 -
It just would not work with me as I could not care one Iota what complete strangers might think of my situation, in this case it would seem I cannot lose and am actually winning on the financial aspect of the entitlement.
I certainly would not allow the belittlement of those with nothing but an opinion, to make me feel any less tempted in claiming for an entitlement or anymore ashamed or embarrassed for receiving an entitlement.
It's no different to me being ashamed of getting my wages every Month, for which I am also entitled to.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Spoken like a true Mancunian!!
But you have worked for your wages - people don't work for their benefits do they?
Besides some people actually are embarrassed with their wages when they see what others have to live on in this country - its called having a conscience. Have a look round Whalley Range, Moss Side, Hulme, the Langley estate in Middleton etc and tell me that the way they have to live does not ping your conscience?0 -

Listen love,
You just do what you think is right for you - sod the rest of them.
Most on here have nothing much to do with their life. Answering questions and posting comments is there way of getting just a little bit of excitement. Heaven help them - they think they are normal!
Best of luck for the future0 -
Was brought up in Old Trafford, and have lived in Langley, Collyhurst and Harpurhey, so nothing there really ping's my conscience.Spoken like a true Mancunian!!

I would like to think that in the Twenty odd Years of paying into my NI, that I have more than worked for my carers allowance, besides which I am entitled to claim it. In effect, Yes I have worked for my entitlement to a benefit.
I am not embarrassed by what I earn, yet anybody in work would be happy to get higher wages, I make do with what I have to make the most of a good thing. I tend not to go around worrying how my neighbours are coping on benefits, just as I would not go around concerning myself over how Mr Jones from 73 can afford three cars and two holidays abroad on his wage.
I would be lucky to get a caravan holiday in Wales on my wages, but rather than depress myself over it, I make the most of what I can afford and enjoy it to the best of my ability.
As a result I class myself as being fortunate enough to be able to afford a holiday on top of putting the food on the table under the roof over our heads, of which keeps my family safe, secure and happy.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
