Isn't it cheaper and quicker to go straight to London with an advanced ticket?
But if you are intent on this route, then you will have to leave the train and get another, though should you miss the connection there will be plenty of more trains going to London.0 -
You are unlikely to be stuck for hours if you miss the connection - even on a bank holiday Coventry has a train service to London at least every 20 minutes
Though it might depend on the time of day0 -
Are you travelling on Sunday 9th April? If so there's engineering works that day and you have to change trains at Nuneaton. If so then you'll be directed to the correct train and you won't be able to miss the train.0

Well, check https://www.thetrainline.com, write down the price and exact journey details etc.
(It'll probably be a VIRGIN train from Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston).
Then check same times at http://www.virgintrains.co.uk and it'll be cheaper, and with no card surcharges or booking fees either!

Think cheaper tickets don't appear until 12 weeks before date of travel though.
Good luck!

If you don't like too many changes and interruptions try a £1 "MEGABUS" journey from Manchester :rotfl:
https://www.ukmegabus.com
Just found a seat going down at 4.30 in the morning for £1!!!!!
Departs 04:30 Manchester, Manchester, Shudehill Interchange
Arrives 08:30 London, Victoria Coach Station 4hrs 0mins
1 seat = £1.00

Not quite the best money saving job done though! Virgin charge you £1 to post out tickets to you.
Save a bit more by using transpenine express to buy the ticket through topcashback and have no card charges/no booking fees/no postage charges AND some cashback!0 -

Save your postage money, I can do you one better! LOL
Seriously though, you can book through https://www.virgintrains.co.uk with no card surcharge, no booking fee or no postage cost if you opt to pick your tickets up at any one of the 900 stations below:
http://trainsupport.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1393/session/L3RpbWUvMTMyNzk1NTE1NC9zaWQvT0REUlpzUGs%3D
and you get 20 minutes free parking at Piccadilly, plenty of time to park, go upstairs and print your tickets out from one of the lovely grey and red Virgin machines
You'll be on your way in no time.
So, who is the cheapest online track ticket provider? Surely "Virgin trains" site is as it's there trains?!.0 -
And I'll even tell you how to collect your tickets, seeing as you've not had the pleasure of being on a train for the last 10 years.

(Hint, don't buy their refreshments, LOL)

Nope -they all charge the same price. The difference is what they charge (if anything) for postage and/or card usage. And whether there's cashback
A few companies (not Virgin) do discount if it's their own tickets.0 -

Cheers!
Well, this would be a Virgin Pendolino train, bought from Virgin Trains so I reckon they're the cheapest, unless he wants to wait 6 months for his 50p cashback to arrive :rotfl:.0
