Converting garage into Bedroom+ensuite

I'm in the process of getting quotes for converting my attached garage into a bedroom with attached ensuite shower room.
I'm just wondering if anyone has seen on the internet plans for ensuites.
For example minium dimensions required. I've been in a few new builds and they do manage to get them in small rooms.
The shape I'm look at it a L shape with the shower in the _ part of the L if that makes any sense.
cheers

cant give you advice on the plans, but you probably will need buiding regs approval as you are changing the use of a room. this rule applies to certain rooms ie. kitchen, bathroom, garage etc.... so give them a call first, cos they will also tell you the minimum dimensions your bathroon has to be.0

They can be tiny. I looked at a new house when I bought this one, which was advertised with an en-suite in the main bedroom.
It was little more than a cupboard. Basically the door opened out into the bedroom. You had a sink in front of you, a shower cubicle to the right and toilet to the left. The whole thing was just the width of the shower cubicle. It didn't have a window and looked really gloomy too. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hi,
as for what dimensions your en-suite should be, you choose. We are having a bedroom and en-suite above our garage and we decided how big the en-suite was going to be (approx 9x6ft, I think that's about right?!). We debated about making it a touch smaller to have more space in the bedroom but really wanted a double shower. You could always go to a bathroom showroom that design the room for you, find out the approximate sizes of what you want and they give you an idea of where to put your toilet etc and how much space you'll be left with.

Ideal Standard do a SPACE suite that goes in really tight spaces, The W.C goes in the corner (triangular cistern) which saves a lot of room.
Its a bit more pricy than your standard kit though .You should however pick up W.C ,Cistern ,basin, pedastil and taps for around £300+vat0 -
Hi there isnt a minimum size for an en-suite, but a standard shower is approx 900 x 900mm, but you can get smaller if you wish. Unless you are lucky and the original builders built to garage fully insulated, you will need to add insulation to make an unhabitable space, habitable. Also before you start, check that you can connect the En suite waste onto an existing waste run.0

we are changing a study into an en suite do you think we'll need building regs approval? is it different in Scotland?0 -
Converting a garage to a room will require building regs if you wish to do things properly. Space saving bathroom equipment is avalible but will cost alittle more than standard. Take the sizes to a local plumbers merchant and they may come up with some ideas, avoid overpriced bathroom showrooms!0

1500 x 2200 is the minimum regs for disabled bathroom me think, but as far as i know there isnt an overall for a normal one,
you can get sinks or otherwise known as finger rinsers to save space, theyre about 300 wide and about 210 deep
you may also need planning consent depending on how far you are from a party wall or a highway etc..Named after my cat, picture coming shortly0 -
