pc start up time?

When PC switch off it 1st test all the hardware working ok (POST = Power on self test) normally you will hear 1 beep to say it ok. That why you get black screen with white writing showing up. You cant speed this up!! Thou when you 1st by a PC or motherbored you get company logo showing up!! this can be turn off in BIOS but will only shave 2-3 sec off. Once it look for "boot" file that tell the PC where to and what to boot up that where you can change thing like mention above untick sofware to start from boot (msconfig). All mine are uncheked even AV as i just scaned it once a week.. Mine boot 5sec after POST. but i do have 2 x SSD Agilty 3 in RAID 980MB read a sec. Use to take me 40+ min just to installed windows.. now it installed befor the kettle boiled sorry am i rubbing it in lol

If you check through the BIOS their might be a couple of changes you can make to speed the P.O.S.T. section of the boot.

Their is usually an option to do a full memory check or a quick one ( that can shave 4 - 8 seconds off of a boot)
check for a "Quick" or "quiet" boot option. This basicaly blanks the screen and does away with some of the tests.
