Would it be wrong to rub it in when i say my laptop goes from fully off to accessing the internet in 20s? ^_^ lol
what OS you using?
how much RAM have you got?
what processor do you have?
These determine how quickly your machine starts up as well as what programs start wen the machine does.
open "msconfig" and select the "startup" tab, remove all ticks, this will stop applications from starting when the machine does, see if that speeds things up any...

But not the antivirus!
Have a read of Closed's sticky above "how to speed up a slow PC"
this, a normal system running windows on a normal hard drive (not SSD) with enough ram will generally boot up in about 45 seconds to 1 minDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -
I use to to take 5mins to go from off to internet ready then I spent £18 on 2gb of ram and hey presto! does it in 1min 30 now.0

Good guess! I had 1GB (now 2) Vista, Avast free edition and 10mb cable BB. I may get another 2GB and see if that improves things further. I bought the pc in 2007 and this is the first upgrade I have done. As you can imagine over five years it has slowed down a lot and now with the new RAM its like new again.0 -
