AOL are currently doing a promotion if you sign up before the end of july, you don't have to pay monthly for their AOL talk unlimited package (usually around £5). It does state it is for new customers only but I have just managed to get it too and I have been with AOL talk for nearly 2 years!! Plus, it also has the added benefit of not having to hang up after an hour to avoid being charged. If memory serves me right, they automatically cut off your phone call after 8 hours!! They are a good company and i am very chuffed I have managed to save myself around £5 a month!!!
Can you believe, unlimited UK calls every month for nothing!!!?:j

Are you sure you didnt agree when signing up to renew your agreement after a set time?!
I have to say, I have only ever used BT and Virgin Media and have to say that I have ben with Virgin Media for 10 years!!!!! yes 10 years, they were NTL, and they have never failed to impress me with there call costs.
They are by far the cheapest and, I think, Best telephone provider.

    Highly recommended!!!!!!

100% sure! It has about it on their website as a promotion for new customers but when I rang them up they did it for me too. All i pay now is my monthly broadband fee which is £9.99 and any calls i make to 0845 etc numbers which are obviously not included which usually only cost £3 a month. I have never had any problems with AOL talk, I am bursting with happiness over this!!

If you take their No Contract Flexible Broadband Deal see
    http://www.aolbroadband.co.uk/pages/productPages/acquisition/wirelessFlexi.jsp?urlseq=5

They will give you Unlimited Free 24/7 Geographical Calls.

Your line rental remains with BT ,you just CPS your calls to AOL.
  • I've been with AOL for a while as my internet service provider. AOL are offering an unlimited and free phone call package to 01, 02 and 03 land lines, no connection charge, no fees whatsoever.

Has anyone any experience of this package. Seems to be ok to me - i'm currently with 18866. Any thoughts ?

sounds pretty good deal as you are already with AOL.I was thinking of joining this with AOL broadband a week or two ago.....Neil
  • I've spent the afternoon interrogating the AOL website regarding this offer and it seems a damn good deal. Free calls of unlimited duration at any time of the day or night to any number commencing 01, 02 or 03 (and the usual 0800 and 0500 are free anyway). The is no subscription but merely have to continue using AOL for broadband which I inted doing anyway. Up to this time I was using 18866 wich is I think 4p or 5p connection charge, but looks like I will be saving about £50 + pa As a bonus AOL are upgrading my internet speed 3 fold for an extra £0.00 per month. AOL just got better !! - that's saying something

I have just subscribed to AOL Talk free 24/7 landline calls.
NO monthly fee and No contract

    CATCH:
The only catch to it is that if you call 0845 and 0870 in the evenings and weekend.
Cost of calling 0845 is 0.50p/min evenings and weekend
and for 0870 is £1.50/min evenings and weekend

But I suppose you can always prefix 1280 for your 0845 ad 0870 calls to be routed through BT
When I mentioned this to the lady on phone, she was not aware of it, but I think you should be able to do that
I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T

That is part of the reason I have not subscribed. We don't make that many 1/02/03 calls (I use 18185 anyway) and I know my husband want want to think what/when he is dialing , in order to use 1280 prefix.

The other reason/catch is AOL software on my pc got broken when I was trying to get back on after AOL server moves. After several phone calls to them I got back on without using AOL software - which I now prefer, so don't really want to re-install.
