Taxes, fees, charges & surcharges on flights!!!

So on a flight from Newcastle to London the fare comes in at £22 per person, then the taxes, fees, charges and surcharges come in at an extra £90.64!!!
How can the Government, airports etc charge this much it is a total rip-off. More exposure needs to be done about this on the radio, internet and tv to find out exactly why its so much!
Anyone else agree?

There is quite a bit of tax evasion going on apparently, How can the Government let them get away with it, it is a total rip-off for the honest tax payer.

The actual tax involved is ten pounds or less.

The rest of that ninety-odd quid is charges imposed by the airline, and costs that the airline has to bear like fuel -- things that you would expect to be included in the fare! Not to mention the fee to use the airport, which is a payment from one private business to another, and again nothing to do with the government.

I'm in Thailand and girls are now over £15 per night (for the matching pair)
That's + £6 each way if you use the wrong plastic and don't even ask about
priority boarding!

I never took you as a cheapskate BTS!

Mind you - on one occasion I was walking well in front of Mrs Dickydonkin in Bangkok when I was approached by a feller who thought I was after 'business'.

He informed me he had 'pretty lady' and it was now 'happy hour'!

When my better half caught up with me she asked who I was talking to, I explained that I had an 'offer' and it was happy hour as well!

To which she responded by saying happy HOUR? - would you get a refund for the unused time?:eek:

I have feelings!:sad:

But I do concur that more exposure needs to be done about this on the radio, internet and tv to find out exactly why its so much!
