Can anyone recommend Paraben free make up (you can buy in the High Street!)

I am allergic to some ingredients, and find that if I contact the main company, they will often send samples (which the stores can't always organise).
I do use expensive make-up, but find that I can get good, inexpensive moisturisers & cleansers by buying base ingredients from an aromatherapy supplier.0 -

I have changed 99% of all my "lotions and potions" to more natural products, mainly as looking into it I became aware of what utter rubbish they add into them but tend not to faff about with my makeup.
I do use a lot of BE makeup (always their foundation it works for me), but other stuff I find tricky and as I have very allergic skin anyway as long as it dosent make my eyes water, itch, break out in blisters then I'll use it!
I had a bad reaction to some Une mascara but dont know what caused it!
Dr Hauschka skin care is lovely but I find their make up a bit pants for the price.
Be good hear what you find!

FYI L'occitane do use parabens and SLS's all be it in low amounts.
Amazing what different doctors say, its not for me its my DD, GP has always called it excema/dermatitis but never psoriasis .... in fact my OH has always suffered with psoriasis, and we have always told doctors this and they always insist psoriasis is no way related to excema/dermatitis .... hey i'm obviously no expert but they are red flaky skin conditions !!!!!!
My DD suffers with her excema/dermatitis mainly on her eyes/face and round her neck and down her arms ..... exactly where shampoo/conditioner would be mainly against her skin ......... never gets it on her lower body! Since changing shampoo/conditioner and shower gels it has already calmed down quite a lot but as it affects her face this is the reason why we want to eliminate parabens from her make up regime ........ off to a shopping mall with her today, so John Lewis, House of Fraser, Boots etc here I come!
Its not been hard to find shampoo etc paraben free, can easily buy them in supermarkets etc ..... amazingly though the same range, the conditioner may not contain parabens but the shampoo does ..... same with skin care, there is a moisturiser in one range that can be paraben free, whilst the cleanser isnt ....0 -
just to let everyone know there is a Groupon deal today for a £30 voucher for £12 for "green people" who do organic cosmetics etc.
Sorry, not helpful for the op as it's not high street but thought it may be of interest to people who are reading/following this thread. Not used them myself so can't vouch for them but I've given it a go.0 -

They have been getting easier to find over the past few years and are getting cheaper I love the Happy Hair range from Sainsburys and I think Boots do it too, also Dr Organics from Holland & Barretts is ok other brands havent been as good, people rave about the Naked range but it made my hair like straw! Waitrose do an own brand S&C with various different products some are great others are rubbish the good ones are always sold out:mad:
For skin care I keep it easy, sweet almond oil to remove make up, then make my own serum/oil as a moisteriser.
I do use an Elimis face wash (not paraben free) in the AM but I know im ok with it and got sick of spending money on stuff that would irritate me.
It really seems to be trial & error and what is great for some is not for others hope you managed to find something!
YDSMI wish I would take my own advice!0 -
I use the Body Shop's olive oil foundation which is paraben free, although none of their other foundation ranges are. I have previously used Bare Minerals but found it too expensive and dark for my pale skin, so the Body Shop is perfect and the one I use is liquid and has a fairly good coverage.0

I use this(The olive oil foundation) it hasn't had a bad effect on my skin which normally doesn't like anything on it!
Sorry I got the recommendations wrong OP! Just wondered if you are anywhere near a Wholefoods- there is one in London and they have makeup. I know they have an all organic ethos in their stores so I'd think they're make up brands would be OK?
Aveda- think they have just revamped their makeup (quote from website):AVEDA has been phasing out parabens from its existing products and for the past 2 years all new AVEDA products have been formulated without parabens-AVEDA now has more than 350 formulas preserved without parabens
BareMinerals again not 100% on this and wasn't able to find anything to vouch either way but as long as your not pale faced its worth asking.
Une which is sold in Superdrug states its paraben free (think I saw Boots selling it too recently).
LoveLula is a fairly unheard about brand, not seen it in stores myself but it does exist online and has been going for a while. They sell paraben free:http://www.lovelula.com/?gclid=CPTeiOSn_q0CFVAhtAodXWersw0 -

The Body Shop's olive oil foundation is great, isn't it? I found the colours all a bit yellow and I have pink-tinged skin so went for the palest rose shade and it's near perfect. Une is also a great make, I use their mascaras and concealer. They've all made a massive difference to my skin.0 -
Beauty Without Cruelty if you can find them in a health shop.0

Although this doesn't help the OP, this website is good for products I find, and does do samples

Well after spending a good few hours searching the shops ..... department stores, we (my DD) didnt like BareMinerals and UNE ..... but we found ourselves at the Benefit counter ...... quite funny really, i explained to a young assistant that my DD was allergic to parabens, and she assured me that all Benefit products were free from parabens (she was very confident, and explained she is studying cosmetics and uni and knows all about parabens etc) .... so we sampled lots of different cosmetics so my DD could make her mind up what she liked ...... foundation/powder lovely, mascara lovely, eye liner lovely .... went to buy the eye brow kit and blusher and guess what made with parabens !!!! Turns out most Benefit cosmetic are gradually turning all their products paraben free but the slighly older products are not paraben free!
Dont think at the moment, its going to be as easy to just choose a brand and stick with it, unless its something like BareMinerals or UNE ..... just need to research everything before she buys ....
Interestingly, Bobby Brown appeared to be paraben free, not that the girl at the counter even knew what i was talking about!0
