We need to find a range of make up which doesnt contain Parabens, which are available to buy in the High Street, can anyone recommend anything?
So far by searching on line have found Aveda, BareMinerals are Paraben free so off to shops this week to have a look (price up etc) but does anyone know of any others?
Thankyou
Edit to add, reason want High Street availability, so we can check foundation colours etc ....... doesnt look the same online as it actually does ! x

I was talking to a girl at the Benefit counter earlier today who claimed their stuff is paraben free. I'm not 100% sure as I haven't had a chance to look at but I'm sure it would say on their website and might be a starting point.carpe diem

Check out Clarins, very few of their products contain parabens and those that do are being gradually reformultated.
This site http://www.cosmeticanalysis.com/cosmetic-brands/ is also worth a look, you can check the full ingredient list of most brands.

La Roche Possay has a "Toleriane" range that includes skincare and foundation and it's fragrance and paraben free. You can get it in larger Boots stores and some independent chemists. I believe their suncream is also paraben free.0

Not 100% on this but you could try Liz Eaelue (available at John Lewis) and also The Body Shop (again, not 100% but the Extra Olive compact I have is paraben free). Paraben's are preservatives so keep an eye on the sell by date and any other additives they may supplint instead of the parabens as they could affect the quality of the product or how it sits and feels on your skin.0

Thanks, but some Liz Earle products contain parabens and online the only make up they do also contain parabens ...... had a brief look in Body Shop last week, and majority of things i picked up had parabens in too!0 -

Since Body Shop was bought out by L'oreal their products have lost their 'goodness.' They might use natural ingredients but all the dodgy cheap chemicals that shouldn't be in there, are in there.
You could check out Neutrogena products, Maybelline foundations and Aubrey organics. If you can find an independent chemist or health food shop (not H &you'll have a better choice - but you probably know that already!

I used to like Benefit but ditched them after I decided to go for natural/organic makeup & skincare, because pretty much all Benefit products contain mineral oil - cheap ingredient, not exactly great for skin either.
Try these for makeup:
Une - Superdrug/Boots
Dr Hauschka - likely to have counters in John Lewis, check out their site for locations
Inika - search for retailer on their site
Lavera - Holland & Barrett
L'Occitane - standalone store, counters in JL
I can recommend more brands for skincare if needed
A caution about BareMinerals... their foundations contain bismuth oxychloride which is considered a skin irritant. I know many people use their foundations without issues, however it made my skin flare up in red patches which went away when I stopped using it. It's definitely the bismuth oxychloride because mineral makeup with only titanium dioxide, zinc oxide, iron oxides and mica (the other ingredients in BM) don't irritate my skin at all.0 -

All this product searching is all new to meHave sorted out shower gels, shampoos etc, but really struggling on the make up front! So used to be able to pop into Boots of wherever and buy a Maxfactor/No. 7 blusher or whatever we wanted ..... but with an allergy to Parabens its time to start searching around at products.

I have excema / dematitis /psoriasis (depending which doctor I see they all say something different!) on my legs and is it always made 100 times worse by using products with parabens in bath and shampoo products. I have changed 99% of all my "lotions and potions" to more natural products, mainly as looking into it I became aware of what utter rubbish they add into them but tend not to faff about with my makeup.
I do use a lot of BE makeup (always their foundation it works for me), but other stuff I find tricky and as I have very allergic skin anyway as long as it dosent make my eyes water, itch, break out in blisters then I'll use it!
I had a bad reaction to some Une mascara but dont know what caused it!
Dr Hauschka skin care is lovely but I find their make up a bit pants for the price.
Be good hear what you find!

FYI L'occitane do use parabens and SLS's all be it in low amounts.I wish I would take my own advice!0 -
If you find something that looks good online but aren't sure on colours and you can't get samples (some smaller brands will recommend a shade if you send a photo of yourself in day light), check reviews of the product on a site like makeupalley where people also review the colour. A lot of people will say I use X shade and I'm a NW20 at MAC, so if you know what shade you are at MAC (go to a counter, they only need to put a tiny dot on your jaw line at most) it can be easy to workout which shade in the other foundation will be right for you. I know it sounds really long winded but I find it SO useful when reading reviews to be able to know if something will suit or match my skin tone and MAC have a good system, no crazy names like "carribean ivory".
Benefit isn't paraben free in general. Maybe they have a few paraben free products, but all I've seen have parabens.
Une make up is paraben free, free of most nasties actually, and 3 for 2 at boots atm. Lilylolo are paraben and bismuth oxychloride free, they also do sample sizes of all their products for about £1 each. It's usually enough for a couple of applications.
Revlon actually do a few paraben free products, you will have to check the ingredients as they change their formulations so often though. The PhotoReady Primer is paraben free and the old packaged version of the 3D mascara is. You can only get the older one from places like fragrancedirect (albeit for very cheap!) and it's in a round, not square tube.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
