    I've been Money Tipped!
Back to report an App foods order spend of £27.93 but stocked up on noodles, tomatoes, sesame oil, coffee, olives, teabags, dates and jif lemons, to last for a long while I hope.

Using up oddments from the freezers and managed to start on reorganising them, now have a draw full of home made ready meals to help me save on takeaways! :j Strange lunch today though, What I thought was a shepherds pie turned out to be a fish pie - so a bit of a surprise, must label stuff! Tonight we have roast pork! Hope to make a few meals out of that!
Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

I did that - took some crumble mix out of the freezer (had made too much originally and frozen the spare) and topped some apples to make a crumble. It was only when I bit into it that I realised it had been a savoury mix and that I had added cheese to the topping:rotfl:Oh well - apples and cheese go together dont they?

Tonight's pudding is whoopsied pancakes (25p for 6 sweet pancakes) filled with stewed apples and blackberries (apples from a friend and blackberries from a local hedge - all stewed and frozen in portions last autumn) topped with custard.

£2.11 spent today. I had to get juice for Dd2 dor school, just popped into BandM as it's next to DD1's work, it's a shop I don't often got to but was glad I did.

They had nature valley cereal bars which were only 19p each in there. Dd likes them for packed lunches and I usually buy them when there bogof but I've ran out so stocked up.

Ag, have been rubbish and bought a bottle of wine from the corner shop. The only one that looked drinkable was eight quid! so I'll be drinking it in thimbles.

Only a tenner left in grocery budget till payday. But nothing really to buy. Just had lovely soup made by simmering three chicken quarters (whoopsied to £1.50 the lot) with carrots and celery for an hour, taking them out and stripping off the meat, straining out the veg, adding in spring onions, some scraps of the chicken meat, a slug of soy sauce, sweetcorn and sliced mushrooms. Heated it up in the microwave tonight with a few noodles and then dropped an egg in it to poach for the last minute. Wonderful - and I've still got a load of chicken for sandwiches etc. Was going to make a pie or something, but to be frank I've got at least 12 meals sitting in the fridge right now plus a cauliflower that wants to be a soup, and there's only me!

Fiasco55 the chicken chorizo and butter bean stew sounds lovely. Do you have a link for the recipe please?

I am sorry I have looked back through posts but I cant find who made the breakfast bars. Do you have a link please?

I have been baking today blueberry muffins and the last of my Mary Berry Christmas cupcakes.

I stewed some apples which previously would have thrown away and made a crumble. So that is progress!

I also put the leftover veg in the freezer to save for a soup. This is possible now i have sorted out the frezer and there is room

Huge thanks to everyone for your advice help and encouragement

  • Quick update of some spends in Mr M of £14.84 thought the offer on campbells pasta and savoury rice packets were quite good value for quick lunchs at work. Also picked up some 19p for 2 ...apple turnovers and raisin au pains which just jumped into my trolley! but ive placed 3 into the freezer for treats later in the month!
