Spent £5.10 on bread, crunchie bars, whoopsied chicken quarters, spring onions and some carrots at the co-op and local Mace. Not a particularly good shop but too cold to muck about getting to supermarkets on bicycles and now I don't have to go out again unless I want to (I might want to - I might spend a little more of my budget on a bottle of wine tonight :))

Not much to last me till the end of the month, with another fortnight to go. I am being a bit rubbish this month, though I've been pretty good this week. Still, I've got the ingredients for four full batch meals in, meaning probably 16-20 actual meals, and will be cooking them today; so that will certainly last me till the end of next weekend. And then it's only a couple of days until payday. Woo hoo! :rotfl:

((hugs)) to those who need it, especially Living Proof. It's tough when your world shrinks a bit and it's hard to make it bigger again. Give yourself lots of time and let yourself react to the loss. Don't ever think you 'ought' to be behaving a different way, or 'getting over' things. It takes as long as it takes. xx

virtual hugs to livingproof and all others in need of a hug. FIL's funeral fixed for 20th so getting quite stressed about that as it will be the first funeral 2 DD2 and DS will have been to.
Congratulations Ninno on paying off some of your debt. Assuming you're paying interest paying it off will get faster and faster as less goes on interest and more on capital. Way to go :T
Just back from Lidl. £66.66 :j Have a friend up for the weekend so having garlic mushrooms followed by rump steak, jackets and salad :P Then home to £59 Tesco vouchers (evidencing just how much we used to spend in the place )
So total household so far now £147.91 Budgeted for £20 a day so feeling well on target (and wondering what we spent all that money on in January lol let alone overspending every month last year).
 to all of you on this forum. I have already learnt soooo much

Hugs to those that need them, and my best to all GCers for keeping focused during this 'orrible [but at least short] month. :T

I just updated my sig [to Friday 10/2/12 inclusive] - added 3 NSDs and £28.11 spent since last weekend. That means I've spent more than half the month's budget... :o ...but about £11 of the week's spends were freezer top-up, which should do us a little while longer, so it's not all bad.

There'll be another small spend, hopefully later today [we'll need a few bits like eggs and bread in the next few days, and it seems rude to waste a sunny afternoon stuck indoors], then I'm aiming for a mini-run of NSDs. Fingers crossed...
Haven't done the GC since February, but a glance at the Tower of Receipts tells me I really need to get back into it... and plenty of other Challenges besides. :o

    Hiya All, :hello:

Sorry I've been MIA most of the week, had a long one and haven't had chance to catch up. I will try to go back but got quite a few things to do today, not least get the huge amount of salt from the roads off the car. :(

We've done our usual bits of shopping from coop, greengrocer and butchers and I've also added in the £4.70 that OH had to pay on bus fares when he had a hospital appointment and I couldn't take him. :o The sig is updated to yesterday and I can't see us needing any spends today but you never know! ;)

We're now up to £110.03 for the month which seems high but does include £43.48 actually spent in January and allocated out. It's a bit painful as unlike with the second purse system, the payment gets spread even though I haven't actually opened the products. But hey, it's the way I like to do it. :p Only two and a bit weeks left of the month so we should be fine with the budget, fingers crossed.

Oh, and like the forgetful soul that I am I never went to MrM for the teabags. Ah well, still got the £5 voucher and will use it someday.

In other news, I took advantage of the np*w*r 'relief' of exit fees to switch the gas and electric from the G*F*x8 to the G*F*x10 tariff as it worked out about £36 a year cheaper with the same end date of April 2013. Not a lot but every penny counts. :D

Right gonna see if the washing machine has finished the second load so I can get that out in this wonderful (if absolutely freezing) sunshine and breeze. The clothes smell and feel soooooo much better for the fresh air!

See you all later, hugs to all that need them and sorry that I haven't named you individually. I will try to catch up later.

    Take care,
    Spigs

Just popping in for a quick visit. I went to Mr T's yesterday and I could tell that I didn't have enough in my trolley to be able to use my £5 voucher so I bought a jumper to bump my total up which I will take back next week.

    Sshh don't tell anyone.:o

    Naughty but funny :rotfl:

picked up bacon at the butchers this morning while i was out so another £2.44 to add to the total , which i will do in a bit

on my 3rd load of washing , some of it is out in the sunshine , i dont think it will dry but it will smell nice ( although i have a lovely smelling fabric conditioner at the mo , cant remember what it is )

Spent another £27.80 today split between B&M, Aldi and Mr T.
I have bought a fruit mountain, some treats for me for the weekend and lots of dog food and treats. (He's currently walking around with a ham bone almost as big as him, bless him!)

My total is up to £80 now with 2 shops to go before the end of the month for me - should make it comfortably - famous last words!

My spends for this week include £5.60 on a chippy tea (have had a bad tummy ever since:(),£5.40 on some beer for DH and some sweeties for me, £1.66 on cough mixture and Mr S basics sarnie bags and finally £26.56 on a week's shopping at Ald1 including a £2.99 bottle of red. This is for DH. I'm not going to tell him it was £2.99 and see what he says. He has enjoyed the £3.69 bottles before so we shall see.

I needed some tissues earlier in the week but refused to buy them in Mr S, which is where I was when I needed them, as they have put their basics up to 68p a box. Bought much better quality ones for 89p in Ald1 instead on principle.

Fogot I bought a cup of tea and crisps at work for £1.34 so my total spends for this week if I don't spend anything tomorrow to £40.64:D

Really pleased with my spends. Meal plan done for this week but need to make a couple of things for lunch boxes.

I have a few days to report on. Managed 2 NSDs - yesterday and today. But have a £49 spend to add to my budget. This was over 3 lots of shopping and include washing powder, fruit and veg, lots of cans, grains and pulses (restocking the store cupboard), salmon, chicken and beef meat. This should see me though for a bit.

Dinner tonight will be baked sweet potato - yum yum. Tomorrow I will make a chicken, chorizo and butter bean stew.

  • A couple more spends for me. £55 at L1dl which included stocking up on apple juice, 10 jars of salsa which were 39p each and will last most of the year, wine and beer. £7 at Asd* on kids fizzy drinks which will last ages. I'm trying to avoid buying bottles of coke and I hate diet coke so I buy the cheap kids stuff as its sugar free. £4 at the pound shop on toiletries for OH and £5 at M&S on cake and bread as a treat. I also got £17 of half price ready meals in M&S to stick in the freezer for my dad to eat for his lunch when he visits and I'm out at work. I used a voucher on these though so I'm not counting the spend. So far this month I've spent £110 out of my £250 budget so I'm doing quite well.
