Fantastic LC - many thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Was tempted by all your wonderful ys finds to nip into a local C**p tonight. Found a £1.54 pack of pork chops (half price) but was not impressed generally with the offers. Somehow the visit then cost me £13.79 - go figure? I'm like an addict - must stay out tut tut!

Don't know if anyone remembers that we had a SC chicken on Saturday. I served it with caramelised carrots and parsnips and mash. I made gravy from the juices. It was really scrummy and wolfed down by the gannets.

Yesterday we had HM ready meals from the freezer. Everyone had something different, they chose what they wanted to eat so they all got their favourites.

Today I stripped half of the chicken that was left of the carcas and made a Malaysian style curry with it. If anyone wants the recipe I'll pop it up.

Will most likely make some sort of chicken pie tomorrow with the last of it. I also have some mash to use up as well.

Would say that was one nicely rubber chicken :D

Oh bother - I'm going to miss my target of £300 by about £25 - £30. This is because of an unscheduled trip to the Big City to bail out one of my student offspring, who'd run out of both food & money - his loan doesn't cover much more than his rent, so I'm not blaming him for this, and he's on course for a first in a demanding subject so I'd prefer to keep his anxiety levels down! - and it would have been just plain daft, whilst over there, not to visit the oriental grocers & top up the supplies at great prices; there's only one little one down here & it isn't cheap. So £5 went at A*da on whoopsies whilst student-food shopping, and £20 on some very good value bits n'bobs, that I wasn't expecting to spend but was glad of the opportunity to pick up.
And I also got the chance to hunt through the CSs up & down the High Street of his inner-city suburb for bargains too, and have come home with some interesting quilting books. As I went back to the car park to drive home, the council workmen were tidying up around the recycling skips & were just about to junk some vintage buttons, lace & other lovely bits - including a set of 3 old maps - that had just been left outside the skips in bags that had burst. I asked nicely & was told to take away anything I fancied as it was only going into landfill otherwise. So I'm a happy bunny, even if I'm not going to hit this month's target. March I will go for £350 as we will have two extra mouths for at least half of it, so that's for 6-7 adults (plus 2 extra some of the time) 3 cats, 10 chickens, one rabbit & 5 cage birds.

Hello everyone:wave: and Helen:hello:- If it is easier for you, don't mind NOT being on the list as will just put my figures in signature and carry on reading/posting as per usual. Please let me know which is best for you - thanks:T

I have come to the end of my February month - was going to try and eek it out til the end of the month (and might just do it) but will be a struggle so will declare now. Right not straight forward, please bear with me:p. As some of you may remember I have been trying to go from from using cc for groceries and moving it onto cash and as of March month I will have achieved this:T:T.

My TOTAL spend for the month is £334.66/£250 which I know is an overspend. However, on my credit card I have only put £240.90 which brings me under budget and also paid an extra £163.71 from not paying my council tax/water rates my actual amount to pay this month is only £77.19, so well under budget - confused? I know I am, but somehow it all makes sense to me:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

• Think I will use the difference of £86.52 (which is this month's ct and wr minus the balance to be paid to cc) to my second purse which will leave me loads for stocking up.:T:T:T Cannot believe that in one month it can all be turned around and I actually HATE going to the SM's now:rotfl: :D

• Haven't updated in ages, and have totally lost the plot for Feb.

The last six entries on my bank statement are Mr T/the shop across the road. Most of it was alcohol and party food. Oh dear :(

sorry i havent caught up on all the thread , just gone back a few pages. i have to agree about the poor YS stuff , ive looked in Mr T @sda and mr s and the reductions are pitiful i rarely pick anything up now that way :(

3 NSD days and tomorrow will be the same as i am working all day :)

only have £19 left of febs budget and i am running out of stuff at an alarming rate , so i will have to do a shop on thurs which will take me over budget , still needs must.

i am very impressed with all of you who keep spreadsheets and mark down every single thing you buy :T isnt it very time consuming ? i feel i spend alot of time already searching on mysuperm@rket and doing the actual shopping in various stores , so the thought of then having to input everything into a spreadsheet , i feel would take time i dont have , that said actually i would love to be so organised

ive made pancakes ready for tomorrow , so everyone can have some for breakfast :D

Hi All,

Just a quick update. Went to L*dl today to get the bread flour, milk, butter and some cheese. The sig is all updated.

I don't know whether this is a good price or not but they had six packs of h*inz beans for £2.4something. Sorry, I simply can't remember the last digit!

Right gonna get off now, have a look at a couple of other threads I'm watching and then feet up with Uni Challenge. :D

See you all tomorrow,
