  • well, a belated hello again.
Been off for a while, as have house of poorliness - particulalry dd(4) who is just not getting better....10 days of a virus now, which has today produced a lovely rash to go with her sky high temps.
So here am I again, laptop, disney dvds, cuppa....and the silver lining to such a rubbish few days is not easy to go spending!

So sunday would have been one, but blew that on a treat for the kids (Disney on ice tickets!) - though I had got it in savings, it was a tad impulsive.

    But am pleased to report
    Saturday was #nsd 5 and tuesday (today) #nsd 6.

here's hoping tomorrow I actually get to take my two out for half term somewhere in the fresh air - doesn't have to involve money, just fresh air and 3 dimensional people! LOL
    ;)

No chance at all of catching up on posts from the last few days - sorry :(

Saturday should have been an NSD, but something I was cooking caught badly on the bottom of the pan (forgot I'd put the large saucepan aside to be used for veg only, and cooked a meat based stew in it for later in the week - or tried to !!!) - so I had to nip down to Mr M for some more ingredients. (Not totally inedible, but needed mixing with a 'good' batch to dilute the taste).

Sunday was an NSD, so that finally took me up to 6 :)

Monday was another NSD, so up to 7 :D

Today has been spend free so far, and I intend to keep it that way - so I'm now up to 8 NSD's :T

I've had a few good days as well.....

Chap came over Saturday evening (as normal), but a bit ealier than he's been doing which meant I could cook for us both. Conversation early last month had gleaned that he likes steak & ale as much as I do, so I'd trialled a recipe last month which I cooked again this weekend. I didn't turn it into a pie (as too much pastry doesn't fit into meal plans for someone with high cholesterol), but I did cook some puff pastry to serve alongside it - meant we still had some, but not too much. And he seemed to enjoy it :)

That coupled with the (very tasty organic) strawberries and vanilla ice-cream (a nice one from A!di, with bits of vanilla pods in it) we shared for 'brunch' on Sunday were the closest I planned to get to doing something for Valentine's Day - slightly special food, but not totally overboard after a conversation we had a couple of weeks ago when I *thought* we'd agreed that we don't "do" it as it's just an excuse for manufacturers/florists/restaurants to make a lot of money....

I had considered making him a card (I have a room FULL of craft stuff), but decided not to following the conversation - especially as I wasn't going to be seeing him today

So after he got home late Sunday he sent a text asking if I wanted him to come over after work on Monday (he's on 2pm-10pm shifts this week), so that we could spend part of today together........

As I wasn't going to turn down the chance of some extra time with him, yesterday saw a mad dig through my crafting stash yesterday to get that card made - and I'm glad I did !!

Not only was I given a card this morning, but I was also given a lovely teddy bear emoticon_grin.png
The card is fantastic, but he was told off for buying the teddy (love it, but I'm not telling him that just yet ;))

The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed I've changed my avatar - the new pic is the main part of the front of the card he gave me. Had I seen it in the store (I can tell from the back it came from Mr T) he may well have got the same one as it's really appropriate...... not only are we both big tea drinkers, but we drink it the same way (and I sometimes share animal pics like that on FB, which he likes as well) :D
