Re Mum; Mum has no problem talking but whilst she's talking she gets herself worked up so it is a viscious circle.

  • I have two pending sales from facebook who were due to collect this evening, both have postponed until tomorrow eve, which would take my total to just shy of my target....however, got paid today and have received back pay goign back almost two years which I wasn't expecting for another couple of months...to the tune of £3,400-odd extra! Wouldn't have counted it usually as no incentive to work for more dosh but as we're at the end of the month and I'm a tiny bit short, I'm gonna - so there! :rotfl::rotfl:

Just wanted to pop on to say glad your mum is home Durham. It is really really hard trying to get through to your parents and why is it that they never listen? The hospital will be keeping a closer eye on her over the next few months, which is a good thing (follow up appointments usually). It sounds like you may need some rope to keep her still though!! The best you can do is try and talk her out of heavy work (lugging the hoover around and carrying heavy shopping). Light pottering about may well be good for her as will keep her active, take her mind off things and hopefully distract her from worrying too much. You may also find she may be putting an "I'm fine" face on to family as not to worry you all and hopefully will rest up more than she actually lets on?.........well maybe.....(I can almost see you shaking your head from here!).

Edit to add: Just caught up with all posts properly. Sally - to say you have a lot going on would be an understatement. Have you had any sort of formal assessment re: caring for your dad? Make sure you are getting everything you are entitled to. Social Services can also assess for things like sensor alarms that activate if your dad goes out of his room in the night, so at least you can rest in bed rather than sleeping in a chair. If he has flooded the place things can be done to the taps to prevent him from doing this. Have you ever had respite care of any description to allow you to have a little rest or quality time just you and the girls? Just wondering what may be of help really so sorry if you have done all of this already. Hope you are feeling a bit better x

Lolly - you have been through it with A&E bless you. That is really horrible that they contacted SS........ridiculous and I do not blame you for having a good rant about it. Glad your little man is OK (monkey putting mum through it!).

Survived another day in work but am convinced it should be at least Thursday night by now!! Am shattered. Anyhow, got another 2 Ebay sales to add which I will update with tomorrow when posted and worked out proper fee's. Expect profit to be around £15 or so. Also sold DS's cot bed for £70 and the chap is coming to collect it at the weekend. He has a 2 hour drive though so I will believe it when I have cash in hand!!

I had a thought how I can get my extra pennies to make target this month. I have a bag of clothes I can weigh in so will do that later today, I have a friend coming this morning so will have to wait until she's gone. Looks like I may make target after all :)
