Thanks Aesop, sweetpeas and CountingPennies x x x
Sad to say, the neighbours know precisely the pressure we're under - I have told them and so has my sister, who got sworn at and called a bad daughter on the phone.
I will look into timebank and skillswap - brilliant suggestions.
We get 4 weeks' respite a year - I save 2 so that DD and I can go away and use one close to DD's birthday (not on her birthday, as she likes to have her Granddad around on the day). We had to take the 4th week in the current year as an emergency because I got ill, so we're not due any now until April which is when her birthday falls.
My gut feel is that it's gone way beyond counselling or arbitration. Because a grown man has threatened to break the jaws of two 15 year old girls and grown a woman threatened all things precious to me (my Dad, DD and my pets), I honestly feel the best I'll ever be able to do is try to ignore them.
Anyways -- enough of me -- have a great day one and all.

Sally ((hugs)) to you - Aesop has popped on some good advice. Don't apologise for venting - as sweets says we all need to let off steam at times and are here to support each other.

Personally I would use the savings to pay the debt. When all your debt is gone you can re-open a similar plan. Put a few pounds a month away for a rainy day and stop putting yourself under too much pressure which will eventually affect your health. ddfw  Hi Mrs
I agree with ebayqueen, I think you should cash in and use the money towards debt. It might seem a shame but I don't think you should ever have savings when you have debt because of the interest rates etc it doesn't financially make sense.. esp with the 0% running out soon.
I would definately pay it off debt, then you'll find ourself with more spare money each month and will be able to start up saving again. Might pain you to start saving from scratch but it's better then having the debts hanging around your neck.
Hope that helps hun xx
Sallyann, enjoy some fresh air hun, might help clear your head a bit. x0 -
Sorry you're having a tough time Sally. Hope you can manage to resolve things somehow. If one of your neighbours is more reasonable than the other maybe you could talk to them and clear the air.
DedicatedDFW sounds to me like putting those savings against your debt may be sensible. Maybe leave a little of it in an instant or easy access account so you have some emergency cash and use the rest to pay off the debts. If the debts are stressing you out use this money to buy yourself a little peace of mind.
In other news I just ordered my first voucher through z00mbucks $10 amazon.co.uk (have to see what comes in the end, probably about £6)0 -
Hugs Sally- We have had our fair share of bad neighbours!
DFW- Id cash out the savings as close to the 0% credit ending as possible- that way you still build up a bit of interest. If you look at it in real terms as well you will be more than £80 better off as any interest you will pay on any debt will be reduced due to you paying that extra £80 a month off- if that makes sense (been a while since I did finance and economics like this at uni!)
I will be working out eBay profits for the month over the next few days- but may not be able to post total until Friday- Sorry Aesop, but I have got over £400 to add before even my eBay profits£20 a day April 2014 £834.87/£600 :j
£20 a day May 2014 £108.45/£6000 -
Wow, what a lot of pressure we are all under
Nat, I have 6 kids with 3 dads to jugglefortunately I live with one of them
but we try to work it so that the two big girls go to their separate dad's houses at the same time and are both at home with the family at the same time, like weekends and holidays and Christmas etc. Otherwise you won't have a family life, you just end up like ships passing in the night  But first and foremost is the children's time with you because you are the rock on which the rest of their lives are founded and if that is not solid then they end up on shaky ground in the future.
Sally, your neighbours are horrible! Is there anything that social services can do about them? My brother has a ranting madwoman living in the flat underneath him and has a restraining order on her! Maybe you could do likewise to get them off your back. Especially as you can't move with your dad as that would totally throw him out.
Hugs to all that need it.0 -
Oh yes - has the March challenge been posted yet, I haven't seen it and I'm definitely planning on coming back next month

Aww Sally ((((BIG HUGS))) What an awful time you are having. Hope you can find some solutions soon. Could you get a carer to come and sit with your Dad to give you a break.
Not much for me to report but I am £15.74 short to reach my target so I think I will have to cash in my loose change jar unless anything else comes in.
Have a good day everyone.
