Asking for trouble, but anyone suggest a good online bed company?

Hi All.

As said above, I may be asking for troubke, but OH wants a new bed.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest any online companies , who they have dealt with, who have been good and delivered what they have promised?

I don't want to trawl through all the threads on here, as I started and got more depressed as I went on, with the slagging off of companies and so much off thread arguments about DSR's etc.

I just want a bed ! Know what I want and just want a good price.

Any help anyone?

My advise would be don't buy one online -- go in to a shop where you can see the bed, lay on it and generally get a feel for it before purchasing.

    This.

Avoid Dreams etc, try your local independent stores who are much much cheaper.
You are going to be spending your nights in it for the next 5 years realistically, do you really want to not 'try before you buy?'

I have to say, it would probably be better to by in store, we have just bought a new bed and matress, and had a bounce on most of them before settling on one we liked.

Not just cheaper, but i'm betting the local independant will be more knowledgeable than the salesmen in the major outlets also.

Probably so. My best friend purchased a memory foam mattress from one of the big stores, I spent the night at her house and loved it so took my other half shopping.

We went to a smaller trader and found the same make but the next model up from hers with air vents, aloe vera cooling top and rotate handles for £30 less than she paid. Bargain :p

Added to this the guy moved it on to a bed base similar to our base so we could test it properly, it was a big investment so we needed to be certain it was the right bed for us.

    Thanks for all the replies.

It is refreshing that most of you have said go to an independant bed shop. This is coming from a shopkeeper myself.

I am being a bit cagey on what I am after , as the amount of fights on here re beds, puts me off stating what I am after.

I have the brand I want chosen and the product itself chosen, but don't want to say what it is, as you always get pooh poohed on your decision on here. Have shopped around a bit and all seem to be coming up at similar price.

Just wondered if anyone had had good service and a really good price from an internet trader with a bed, most people on here all complain about the product or service. Mind you you never hear about the good ones do you?
  • I bought mine from here and it was cheaper than any other place I looked for the same model

I agree with everyone who says try beds out first. If it's going to be your main bed, you're going to spend a third of the next 5-10 years in it, and a bed that doesn't suit you can easily cause disturbed sleep.

However, once you know what you want... I once ordered a mattress from Mattress Man (https://www.mattressman.co.uk). They aren't Internet-only; they have some physical shops too. They were cheapest for the mattress I wanted at the time and delivered quickly and when they said they would. No complaints. :D They're also on Quidco for 6% cashback.
