rubbish tumble dryer

Hi all
I ordered a new tumble dryer from Argos and it arrived on Tuesday.
The thing is hopeless - its taking 5 hours plus to dry clothes.
Its got some sensor which is meant to stop when clothes are dry but it stops when there still wet. It then continues to spin on a anti creasing cold cycle. but obviously when clothes aren't dry this is not helpful.
I read and re read instructions and tried all the settings but its hopeless.
I even put a small load of kids pj,s and pants in and it still took 3 hours to dry.
I rang Argos who then passed us onto Beko who said an enginner will come out first to check it. Which is great.
But since then I've checked reviews on other pages (the argos reviews were 4/5) and loads of people say the same thing about it never getting hot enough to dry clothes and finishing before clothes are dry.
I'm guessing the engineer will say its not broken.
So where do I stand?
It says its not in 30 day money back guarantee, and they will say its not faulty
But its hopeless and no way can I use this dryer for years as I have 5 young children and have lots of washing??
Any advice
Thanks

Beko DRVS 620

Hmmm, I have read some reviews and it appears that the sensor at the top thinks clothes are dry whilst still wet in the middle, I would be LIVID, it is clearly not fit for the purpose as there are so many poor reviews. I would ask for a refund for that reason.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Fit for purpose cannot be based on other reviews - it would be down to personal, first hand experience - the OP needs to reject the dryer as not fit for purpose.
I would ring Argos asap on Monday - get the complaint in - do NOT deal with Beko - Argos have to deal with this issue, not the manufacturer.
Call Argos and state the the design is not fit for purpose and inform them they can send and engineer but you will not pay for any visits if they conclude the machine is working as designed - as you have notified them its not fit for purpose in advance.0 -
Is there a weight guide for what you're putting in ? I have an Electrolux washer/dryer and the dryer takes forever if i put in too much. I've never weighed my drying but have got used to what will dry in a set time now.
I prefer to hang outside if i can but do use the dryer to remove creases then finish off on my radiators. I would never completely dry anything in the dryer.0 -

Anyway back to you original poster, good luck, the machine is not fit for purpose and therefore they should replace or repair all at their expenseBlackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0
