grumble re. wickes kitchens

Options
Have just paid my first visit to the above. Saw a possible kitchen combined with a wall colour and work surface which I liked. Took a photo so I could see how it might look at home. Got ticked off for taking a picture. Apparently I have to rely on the brochure and web site. I wasn't taking multiple photos to pinch ideas and set up my own kitchen business! I just wanted to see how their colours/designs would work in my house.
When another member of staff approached me to offer assistance, I made a point of telling her about my objection (politely).

It is not uncommon to ban photography in shops and shopping malls. Apparently they think you are a competitor trying to nick ideas and/or find out information.

I made a point of telling the 2nd member of staff that I wasn't nicking ideas. Anyway, they lose out as it has partly put me off requesting a quote from them.
A similar thing happened to me once before in a furniture store. Once the manager was busy with another customer, I sneaked 1 or 2 more photos but eventually didn't buy anything from them.

Weird, wouldnt have happened in my store. Was this a designer who told you off or a redshirt?

He appeared to be a kitchen consultant/adviser. He interrupted a discussion with another customer to come and talk to me. I wasn't even taking a photo at the time. I just had my camera in my hand.

Unfortunately your showroom is a bit far away for me. You don't appear to have any near London.

We often work in London. Our main showroom is in Hertford, 2nd one in St Albans and soon to be representation in St Neots.

I know, its mad. Its amazing how many companies spend so much time worrying about what their perceived competitors are doing rather than making sure what they do is right.

Within reach of the mainline station in St Albans/Hertford or in an out of town retail park?
