got a quote using gocompare, said i was a provisional holder for a year, gave my home address, got a quote from collingwood car insurance for 1200

Yes - that's as a provisional licence holder. You'll find that the premium will shoot up once you've passed your test, as you will no longer be supervised.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

Nothing at all wrong with Fiats. Mine is a Fiat Stilo Multiwagon, which has seriously depreciated in the 10 years that I've owned it. However, that is not a problem, as I am going to keep it indefinitely. It is worth more to me to keep it. I could not afford to replace it with a car of equivalent high spec so I shall keep it as long as it will run.
If it were to be sold. someone would get a high spec, reliable, lowish mileage, economical load carrier, with a full service history, for probably less than £2000, even if they bought it from a trade seller.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • On seperate advice, when you hand your CV in, make sure you hand it direct to the manager, get his/her name and then promise to call them at a later date to discuss your application.

It shows that you are keen and also if it is between you and somebody else and they know you will be following them up, they will likely choose you as in general humans don't like confrontation and they will have to explain directly that you do or do not have the job.

Retail managers are busy people, they are not going to be impressed if they are called away just to accept an application form. In fact it indicates a feeling of self importance, an unwelcome attribute whilst working as a team.
Infusiasm is the key, when you are up against so many people wanting the same thing.

    So is accurate spelling.

I better go back to the proffesional organisation where the Military send their leaver to to learn about these things that they are teaching people wrong because coppa feela said so.

Thank you for commenting on my spelling, I didn't realise we were in a spelling contest, what do I get for 1st Prize?

Under another alias, the OP had a job 16 days ago.

Clearly not a thread to waste any more time on.

You are unlikely to receive any sort of prize if you cannot spell 'professional' correctly!

Does it matter what my spelling is like? What diffeence does it make? Does it invalidate any advice given if I can't be arsed to spell check everything before I click post? As long as it is obvious what has been written I don't understand what the big deal is. I do know that many people that use this forum use other people's spelling as a virtual member extension for them, each time they point one out it adds an imaginary inch to their poultry.
