Hello all :hello:
so i have been on here for about 18 months now. started off owing dad from a uni loan he took out for me and my cc to buying a house and adding to that debt with a loan from mum for furniture etc....
debt therefore went up massively as i had already booked a v expensive hol before i bought my house. went to south america for 3 weeks less than 3 weeks after moving in so about 8 months were wasted making minimal payments and adding to debt with hol spends and house spends
back on the wagon properly in april 2011 and since then i have cleared my cc's, dad loan for holiday and dad loan for uni loan
thats a total of £7,136 cleared since then :T (and also more that i have been shoving on card
)
so i now have £4015 left to clear that i owe mum and its 0%
so a bit about finances-
i take home £1368 per month from my job and my outgoings are-
kitty (for meet up with uni friends)
hair cut
food
petrol
bday presents
water
tv licence
home insurance
gas & elec
contact lenses
council tax
BG homecare
bank account fee
gym
mortgage
love film
mobile
sky
weekly spends
sky includes tv, phone and internet (just got free line rental for 12 months
). got homecare as boiler is old and recently broke, luckily was cheap to fix but dont want that worry again! gas & elec are high but stuck on tariff for a year. when i moved in they had day & night readings wrong way round so i paid minimal for elec. now its sorted elec bill has gone up about 300%!!!! as it used all of my credit, they put the dd up to £83. once winter is over hope to reduce this to maybe £70. have just reduced weekly spends to £30 week. this covers dancing, eating out, nights out, clothes, make up etc....
my wage and above outgoings go in/out of my main account. theres normally abput £20 left over which covers any calls on housephone etc... this is transferred to 'debt' account at end of month.
i know theres lots i could cut down/out eg gym, lovefilm etc... but as i manage my payments i still want to have a life etc...
so then i have my 'debt' account. into this goes my rent from my lodger £340, any ebay sales and my mystery shopping money. i aim to earn around £310 a month from MS. this is the account i use for debt repayments.
mum has said she is happy for me to make small payments whenever i want so the plan is everytime anything goes into the debt account i will transfer it straight to her. i receive my rent and a MS payment of about £150 around the 20th so that will go straight to her. the rest of the MS money comes in dribs and drabs throughout the month depending on when i do the jobs and which company so these will also get transfered over.
quite excited about this as rather than one large payment to dad a month so only one reduction a month, i can see the total going down at least once a week
this should hopefully assist with motivation!
target is to be totally debt free (except mortgage and student loan by August 2012. the august payment will be less than £200 so if i manage to earn a bit more then DFD could be july :j
once i am debt free i am saving up for a trip to new zealand next jan/feb :j
so let the final bit of the journey begin.....

Happy new diary Clippy. As always you sound horribly organised compared to my attempts! It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

hello all!

got tonnes booked already in febinc £90.50 earnings just tomorrow! :T got the day off work and just kept booking jobs! got 9 in total now! so far i have a total of £253.50 booked
after a bit of advice- got an appointment at a beauty counter in debenhams on sat for an eye make over that was booked when i got a free mascara. now i fancy having my eyes made up to give me inspiration and also i am going out sat night so will look nice! however i have no intention of buying anything as cant afford it. will they totally hassle me and make me feel like a tight !!!! if i dont buy or are they just used to it? dont want to go if i am going to be really pressurised!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
so just having breckie and a second coffee before i head out on my marathon day. wonder if i will have time to squeeze in a swim as well later?
i have been v bad and barely been gym this last week and eaten choc everyday. have put on a few lbs againone of my jobs today is at a supermarket so will buy popping corn. whilst it would be better to go without, popping corn is way healthier than the 500 odd caleries or choc i am eating a day
was going to be good and take a packed lunch but luckily i managed to pick up a sandwich MS so thats lunch sorted. will take some snacks and a drink to keep me going.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

so today have got another £40 of ms booked
going into city with a friend for coffee then i will do my shops. will prob have to buy lunch as i will be a good few hours but will get a £3 sub and drink and i think. so prob a spend of £5-6 on food. need to buy friends bday present as well, budget of £10. doing a ms in a shop where i need to buy something (can return it) so if i see something suitable there will get that. other thought is to go to bookshop and look at some books she might like and then order online for cheaper! :money:
out for dinner tonight with friends which i can pay for out of weekly spends. still got about £68 to last until payday in 2 weeks
not received any more ms payments yet. it always seems like a long wait!
made 1st payment today of £2 to mum :rotfl: mainly to check standing order set up ok! will get £15 in few days but that will be used for the ink cartridge i had to buy. think next payment will be £38 due on 10th so that will be going over.:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -

thanks greensaints, just been having a catch up on yours too!
so i am still not dressed! meal was lovely and luckily the 4 inches of snow here fell after we had arrived home! no plans to leave house later except to retrieve wellies from car at bottom of road and walk to gym (might ring to check they are open as will be annoyed to walk there if they are closed!)
on money saving front i have emailed a MS co re my missing £10 bonus, emailed very a complaint email re my delivery charge which they should have refunded 6 weeks ago and they keep claiming they have and plan to put two items on ebay later.
really need to type up 3 reports from yesterdays MS as well!
decided do not want to drive to work tomorrow and will prob struggle to get car to move from side of road anyway. will need to rearrange my audit that is planned for after work and also my MS.
other than that i need to change my sheets and clean en suite. will also make leek and pot soup if housemate makes it back from shop with potatoes!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j0 -
Sounds like you're having a very productive day. I've just been looking at your sig and you're doing really well!DEBT TOTAL: £7609.440

hi squidge! yes 'sounds like i am having a productive day' were the right words as in the end i didnt do any cleaning except change my sheets, didnt make soup and didnt go to the gym!
also didnt do ebay!
didnt go dancing last night as couldnt be bothered to go out in the snow so that was £5 saved!
i am working at home today and do flex so can start late, long lunch, finish early
plan is put pot of soup on, work am, eat soup and then take 2 hr lunch break to go in city and do two MS, come back, work till 4, gym & swim, dinner, report typing then bath and bed!
that will be productive if i get it done!
£156.50 earnt so far in feb :j sure it wont continue and i am away for a weekend in two weeks but think i need £32.50 more booked to meet targetany extra will be a bonus!
think i am away 1st weekend in march as wellnow so whilst its a new month, i will need to keep some of febs debt repayment back to spend on thatbut will be a nice weekend
