Premier Parking Solutions fine for blown over ticket

Hi I have just received a fine for £100 (reduced to £30) if paid in 7 days, for parking at P&O Ferries in Hull.
I bought a ticket, which I have with credit card receipt and placed on the dash. We had fun attempting to keep it displayed as it was very windy. After around 8 attempts, the ticket stayed in place. We checked that this was the case before moving on. We actually parked right next to the ticket machine because it was cold and windy.
We came bac to the car after returning from Bruges and found a parking notice attached to the car. The ticket we had bought had blown off the dash and onto the drivers seat upside down, on opening the parking fine, there is a message on ere that it was incorrectly displayed and it says "fall down on seat" so they are clearly acknowledging that it was there.
I know there is a lot about just ignoring these companies, but would I be best arguing with them in this case as we have the proof and their acknowledgment that there was a ticket, but just on the seat?

There is no point arguing or appealing their ticket, it will be turned down its that simple. Keep the pay and display ticket safe as its your proof that there is no loss, and this clearly is a penalty they practically admit in their invoice to you, there is no way on earth it will go to court, and if it did they would lose as there is no loss to them.
Just ignore this, and read the sticky threads in this section to educate yourself about this scam.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Your best plan is to follow the advice on here and ignore them . Ask yourself what material loss have they suffered? Of course it's zero and that's the only amount they can claim for. Finally, this is not a FINE, it's an unenforceable invoice. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
-
You've paid the landowner for the use of their land, so the landowner has suffered nil damages, so the most they can sue you for is zero.
Ignore the PPC, they will soon give up. Take a look in this thread to see the example letter chain you will receive for the scam

You have paid. You owe them nothing, and they would be hard pressed to prove otherwise.
BTW, it's not a fine. Merely thinking it in those terms gives it a legitimacy it doesn't have. It's a speculative invoice for an amount which bears no relation to their actual loss (which in this case is zero, as you paid).0 -
How does a ticket, placed on the dashboard of a sealed car, manage to blow off the dashboard onto the seat?
Or has someone been rocking the car so that this can happen so that they can issue a so called penalty notice?0 -
The old rocking the car to dislodge the ticket is a well known one, unfortunately unlike a real PCN, a notice from a PPC would fail on production of a legitimate timed and dated ticket, as there was NO CONTRACTURAL LOSS, so they would be extremely stupid to try court, failure to display the ticket doesn't equal a loss, the ticket being proof the fee was paid so is an absolute defence, so they would lose, and they know it. Best advice is as always to ignore them, then ignore some more0

Does it make any difference ? But it could have blown off when the door closed. The point is the OP paid, they basically said so on their invoice , so there is no loss, therefore no chance that it will go anywhere near a court.Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. The reason I think it moved is because we were parked both next to the ticket machine and the main road where the lorries pass. Its only a small car so gets shaken around a lot.
It's really annoying as we had put the ticket on the dash around 8 times, closing the door, seeing it flip over and re-trying. It then finally stayed in place, which we checked before walking off...and then it ends up on the driver's seat!0 -
Doesn't matter though, you realise it's a scam and can see the letters to ignore in the top thread. Easy, I have done it myself and that's why most of us on here come back to warn others about his con.
You do not owe any money and the debt collector letters lead nowhere.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Get yourself a DVD case, pop the ticket in the plastic sleeve and put the case on the dashboard. Put a couple old DVDs inside the case to give the case a bit more weight.0
