  • Hello,

In the same boat, denied a mortgage because of an incorrect VM default on my credit report

Emailed the consumer address for months and nothing, even experian couldnt get a reply from virgin. Finally got a reply after my mum phoned them demanding compo etc. Still awaiting it being removed although a reply from them is progress!

Thought i'd just share the number incase it can be helpful to anyone, know how stressful these situations are!

    Consumer Underwriting: 08000 520 290
  • I have been getting a black mark against my name for the last year without realising it. The Virgin service was shocking, the customer service is so much worst. After 8 weeks of getting nowhere I have just emailed Neil Berkett threatening to go to the BBC and the Guardian. He emailed back immediately, lets hope they resolve this before I have to try and sue.
  • This is happening to myself at the minute also. I switched banks and only VM did not come out at the due date even though I had received written confirmation from them with new bank details. I also had a ten pounds charge applied which I had to ring to get removed although it seems they cannot even do this properly. I am trying to buy a house and finally found one we wanted to put an offer on and when I got my credit report this was showing as a late payment, I have rang them at least 3 times, I have sent them a letter and an e-mail to the credit underwriting team, I have sent them a letter of complaint and also raised a dispute through equifax. They have done nothing as of yet. I have now contacted the Steven Nolan show through the BBC to report them as I think it is disgraceful they can mess with peoples lives like this. I am soo angry with them and their incompetence.
  • V Media have done the same to me. They damaged my credit rating. It took 4 years for them to decide I owed them £47 which I found out when I applied for a mortgage with Virgin Money and got turned down. I never got sent a bill by them at all. It cost me £700 in lost house purchase fees but Virgin Money also lost £120 thousand over the life of the mortgage so they really shot themselves in foot on that one!!!! I wonder if Mr Branson knows what a bunch of xyz's !!!!! he has got working for him

Funny, I don't think they'll see it in those terms. Mr Branson is only a shareholder - this is a US cable outfit you are dealing with.

Shows how powerful the brand name Virgin has become. Richard merely sits on the beach on his Nectar Island counting his money.
