Cheaper Flights

What should be taxed is frequent flyer benefits that individuals accrue where their employer pays for the flights.
Examples of potential candidates would be FF miles/points, hotel loyalty scheme points, FF/Hotel loyalty scheme benefits, credit card cashback/points/benefits, Nectar/Tesco club card point on fuel spend, etc.
I guess if you target FF benefits you have to tax all such perks.
I had to google the thinking on the current position.

If it meant saving a few hundred pounds then I might go via a European airport, but to be honest I don't think I would like to take the risk in case of flight delays or cancellations. Also, the main point for me is that I find it hard enough doing the 8 hour direct night flight home from Florida with a 7 year old - I really don't think I would extend that by a few hours for any money, lol.0

I think some users have lost the plot.
The purpose of the post was to, possibly, save money on flights. Not to get into an argument over typeface choice, or any other grammatical fauxpars.
Or even ability to pay, just to save money.
I think this thread needs to end here, thanks for all the constructive advice.
Ps, comic sans is my personal favourite.

You received a good response about saving money in post no. 2, it was you who went on about ability to pay in post no. 3. No users have lost the plot.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Oh Dear !
'grammatical fauxpars'
Clue was in the sentence.
Thanks Number 2, but my time is now up for the hangers on.

I've avoided this tax on a trip before, to South Africa.
Coutnries with the lowest air taxes: Belgium, Spain, Italy. I booked a flight Milan-Johannesburg-London, then another one-way to Turin, near Milan. The Milan-Johannesburg flight went via Frankfurt and Addis Abeba. I stayed overnight in Milan, to help alleviate any possible delay to the short flight. I was not in a hurry, but the total saving was fairly small, once I included the short flight, hotel and Italian train fare. Check departures from all 3 countries, return to UK - especially Brussels, as a one-way Eurostar ticket can be had for £39.
(my routing was actually the reverse, Johannesburg-London, Milan-Johannesburg. My blog about the flights:
