Most of the creditors froze the interest and charges so when you see the balances actually going down it really is an amazing feeling!
Not wanting to overly worry myself here, but I'm just curious as to which are the friendliest creditors (freezing interest and stopping charges), & which are the worst?
I hear MBNA can be quite tough, which is bad for me.0 -
You may well have to keep pleading with your creditors to stop adding interest. There is a section where they agree not to make your situation worse & continuing to add interest does just that. You will have to NAG & NAG though.
Good luck and keep at it. 2 years done & 8 to go for me.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -

Thank you Mrs Arcanum.
So, do I have to contact them myself? Don't CCCS do that? I know they are a charity but still aren't 100% sure what powers they have, & what they can do for me on my behalf... Hopefully more than make an offer to my creditors?
Sorry, I'm NOT being ungrateful in anyway. I couldn't do this on my own and they have been great.0 -
MBNA were fine with me eventually. In fact, all of my creditors froze interest last time (its so horrible to have to say that!). It just took time and alot of nagging like Mrs Arcanum said!
As far as I know, you don't contact them. CCCS send them the offer, then they are likely to reply to you. You then pass their reply on to CCCS who contact them again. When they contact you, you are telling them they need to deal with CCCS and give them your reference number. You limit the amount of contact with your creditors. CCCS are now working on your behalf.0 -
Thank you katy721, that makes me feel better, so I appreciate that..0

In our experiance Lloyds & Barclaycard were the worst but MBNA who we owed several thousand to (probably about £17k in total) were fine, they stopped interest and charges straight away. Very rarely heard anything from them even on the couple of occassions when we had to reduce our DMP payment.
But there is no point worrying yourself silly, just keep telling yourself they cant have what you havent got .0 -

Well i took the stance that although we were in a DMP with cccs, there was no harm in us being pro-active ourselves, so i made sure if a creditor wrote to us i replied to them in person or if they wouldnt freeze interest i wrote to them personally to ask.0 -

CCCS are good for helping you manage & will offer suggestions but they do not do the pleading with creditors bit.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -
Hi
Not been around here for a few days. W
Just thinking what a difference a week makes RD! So far so good and I'm glad your pay was sorted out. You may well have to write to creditors at some point but you'll deal with it when and if it is needed.
I worried about one of my creditors Nat West Triton as had read so much negative talk about them but they've been brilliant so its hard to tell who'll play ball but it will be sorted.
If you have to write there are tons of templates available and lots of expert advice on here.
Well done!:TDMP mutual support member 3970
