Vinyl-to sell or not to sell?

Can you give me your opinions on selling vinyl? I sold an album for a good price last week but maybe that was a one off.
Most of mine date from the 80s to the 90s, but they are in a good condition and I have a box of 7 inch singles from the 80s.
Thanks

Depends what they are. I take it you have checked completed sales etc?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

Definitely check what other people are asking, elsewhere on the net also, before sticking anything on with a BIN! I learnt this the hard way: I had an indie single, pretty old and nothing I thought anyone would shell out much for, and as a laugh I stuck it on with a BIN for a tenner, thinking no-one would take me up on it.
The buyer nearly had my hand off. (Yes, I honoured the sale). Of course, after the slightest checking, I found out it was priced at five times that elsewhere. (Of course that doesn't mean it was actually selling for that price, but still... twenty quid would have been nice.)
Do a bit of homework: don't be lazy, you could lose out.0 -
I have a cd single on ebay right now, someone has the same one at £49.99 BIN, and no one has touched it. I started at 99p on sat and am at £10 now!
Curiously, the exact same thing was on there til today starting at £5, but it ended with nothing, yet mine is now at £10 with 4+ days to go! Why would you bid for something at £10 when you could buy it for £5????"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0 -
we have lots of old vinyl, lots of early 80's punk and goth, including a signed siouxsie and the banshees Lp, tons of bowie Lp's and singles, including a gatefold diamond dogs (quite rare I believe). bauhaus, the cure, skeletal family, I have never thought of selling it but I might have a search on the bay to see what that stuff's going for. when I think of all the t-shirts, concert tickets/posters etc. that we had , I could cry! I had a vivienne westwood top that I GAVE away in @1984!"There is a light that never goes out"0

I buy a lot of vinyl of Ebay. It usually goes for 25-30% less than record dealers.
If they are rare I think it's worth listing.
TBH if it is worth something you will attract bids.
I like rare 1980s soul so I buy of US dealers because I get it for up to 50% worth less than UK dealers.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

I might just catalogue it all sometime, there are dozens, if not hundreds of them just sitting in record cases ( who remembers these?) under the stairs..
God, I feel soooo old! it's still fantastic music though."There is a light that never goes out"0 -

On the subject of selling vinyl, what is the best way of packaging vinyl to be sent through the post? I'd worry about those rough posties trying to fold it to fit through a letterbox!Do You Twitter?
