In what way is it bad?

Test results mean nothing to me nowadays - especially those ones - I certainly wouldn't discount it based on the results from that site.

At the end of the day it does what a firewall is supposed to do - as do many that score lowly in those tests.

You asked and thats my reply. I can state by a matter of fact that Nortons firewall is full of holes

Explain more - What /where are these holes?

Don't matousec's results fly in the face of the av-comparatives Whole Product tests - Test's that they came out on top of in 2010 and look set to do again in 2011?

    Personally I only use av-comparitives
They test just about everything that can be tested

I dont see why I 'need' to explain anything. But if you can show me some actual 'firewall' tests that av comparitives have done Ill take it from there (If I can be bothered)

To me, a firewall (from a home users point of view) is basically there to allow (solicited) or deny (unsolicited) traffic between the computer and the internet - I really can't see how Norton doesn't acheive this.

Anything beyond that isn't specifically the job of a firewall - The matousec tests you cited go beyond testing that into the realms of HIPs etc. As stated in the link I gave it can no longer be regarded solely as a firewall test, so to draw conclusions that a products firewall must be "bad" based on those tests would be wrong.

As you wish waddler. I still say its full of holes and there are FAR better firewalls available. Can we move on now?
