McAfee renewal - Dell

Hi, I'm sure this gets asked a lot but I can't find a recent thread. I've looked at some IT forums as well but they are bit full of jargon.
My McAfee Security Centre on my Dell is about to expire. Renewal is £39.99/1yr, £69.99/2yr.
On their own website, Total Protection (1 user) is £30 and described as 'ultimate'.
Is this equivalent to what I have now?
I've not had a problem with McAfee and find it fairly unobtrusive. I'm happy to have something that just sits in the background, I don't need to tweak or customise anything.
I'd be grateful for some advice as to what to purchase, thanks.

Is MSE a one-product-does-all program, or should it be used in conjunction with something else?0

If you absolutely 'must' use an 'all in one' then I recommend kaspersky
Mcrapee might seem ok to you, but it will 'definitely' be slowing your system down
I only recommend kaspersky because its the only one with a decent firewall (Mcrapees is very poor):idea:0 -
use avast free - much better than paid-for mcafee which fails to detect many viruses and Avast also detects rootkits - FREE I tells ya, yaaaarrrrrrrFriendly greeting!0

Have a look at this graph from Virus Bulletin, for interest!

(And if somone can tell me how to post graphics, it would be much appreciated...!)0 -
Insert image pal (Envelope looking icon):idea:0

It helps if the tooltip comes up, doesn't it!0

some surprising results in that graph (bullguard high, kaspersky low, lavasoft high for instance), would like to have seen details of the test methodology......
...and no mention of norton.....wonder why ?? - symantec ducking the competition again ??......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
Personally I only use av-comparitives
They test just about everything that can be tested, including how well the software removes nasties:idea:0 -
Norton doing well on the Whole Product Dynamic Test again this (last) year....0
