Have you considered Malta? I hadn't until we went for a freinds wedding and really enjoyed it.

Bodrum was nice, we went in June and it was about 34 degrees, maybe a bit hot for your OH. I loved Rhodes. We went end of Sept and perfect weather.
We also like somewhere that we can have a lazy day at the pool/hotel/beach, then a day doing something, ie sightseeing, market, getting on the local transport and exploring. We went to Benalmadena and Portugal last year and enjoyed both.
This year we are going to Norfolk (baby due in March so need to stay in UK) and then in November we are going to Lanzarote for a week all inclusive at the resort for a well earned break.....0
