There should be plenty of them available with a pass-through socket.

not seen any T Link ones with pass through socket. Amazon sell the T Link ones but with a european socket pass through not UK 3 pin.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/TL-PA251KIT-Multi-Streaming-Powerline-Starter-Through/dp/B005KTM2G6/ref=sr_1_38?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1327768877&sr=1-38

cant find with 3pin pass through for reasonable price.

How about these Solwise ones? May be cheaper elsewhere of course:

The TPlink Uk pass through adapters are still not available, so will probably opt for the solwise ones, but they work out at £36 each with delivery. I need 3 of these does anyone know where i can get them cheaper as solwise dont do any trip pack offers?

Do you really need pass though variants because you are paying heavily for that feature e.g. here three for £53.69 delivered.

Given that it’s advised not to run one off an extension gang, if you’ve only got (or have free) a single wall socket it’s best to buy a powerline adaptor with a pass-through and plug that into the wall. Then you can plug an extension gang into the pass-through of the powerline adaptor. :)

It's also important to check whether the powerline bit of it protrudes upwards or downwards from the inbuilt plug. If it's downwards, you need to ensure before buying it that it will have sufficient ground-clearance to fit in a low-mounted power socket on the wall. :wall:

I've been caught that way too, usually with a socket fitted too near to the skirting board.

I know that they advise not connecting via a extension cable, but here I am doing just that, and getting over 6mbps on a 8mbps adsl line. I guess it is better not to, but needs must and costs come into it too.

It makes no difference to performance and fitting additional sockets or using a simple mains adapter is much cheaper e.g. here

This is a money saving site and it is not worth paying that sort of premium for pass though.

Putting one into an extension gang usually works (unless you also have a mobile 'phone type charger plugged into it as well, which causes interference) but doing this tends to reduce its operating speed.

Obviously, you won't notice that at 6 mb/sec (or even at 8 mb/sec) for an Internet connection, on a 200 mb/sec powerline adaptor, but you're likely to notice it if you're streaming large files from wired Gigabit Ethernet devices. :coffee:

(Ring the Solwise Technical Support Line if you need confirmation of that.)

    espresso,

"Money Saving" takes many forms. I don't agree with wasting it but I do regard this site as helpful primarily for finding what I do want to buy, for less money, rather than for finding something lesser than what I actually want. Kindly don't scold me for failing to comply with the less desirable definition of the two ambiguities merely because you prefer the other one. Mine is just as valid. :)
