I'm a refugee from Publisher which keeps freezing on me. I could have finished the church mag by know if it had behaved properly. As it is I'll be going till the early hours at this rate.:mad::mad:

A bit concerned about reports of arctic blasts etc. We don't often get bad weather here on the 'sunshine Isle', but when it's bad it's very bad.

Some absolutely brilliant news - I'm going to be a Grandma again.:j:j:j:j
My DS2 and wife-to-be have announced that she is pregnant. It's early days but bless her heart she has already booked up appointments with doctor and midwife. Her son is 21 and DS2's son is 10 so they are both a bit out of practice.
There will be sparks coming from my knitting needles.

That is good news hope everything goes well for them. I expect it will be quite a different experience for her this time around. Happy Knitting!

Monnagran - Wow that's fab news :) congrats

I had day off today cos I'd been away all week with work. I went to Cardiff with the girls for a spot of shopping :) It was lovely to spend time with them, we haven't all been together since before Xmas (one of them lives in Bristol). We went to GBK for lunch (with a voucher ;)) and had afternoon tea in Debenhams :D. I bought some black ballet pumps, black ankle boots (in sale for £12 :)), gloves and 2 pairs of jeans.

One of my lovely friends let me use her WM whilst we were out as mine is broken, and my other lovely friend has given me her old Freesat box cos I can't get more than 12 Freeview channels through my aerial here :( I offered her money for it but she refused :).

OS wise - washing is on airers and radiators, tea was cheese on toast

Have a good evening all

Glad your shoulder is better FB sounds like you had a good time in Cardiff. I really like Cardiff for shopping. my DD is at Uni there so we often go shopping there when we visit. Also means we don't have to pay bridge fee to shop in Bristol.

Is indeed quiet to-day...have been up to my eyes getting very little done, hence my sporadic absence.

Pork chops, celery, butternut squash with baked potatoes for dinner to-day, enjoyed it immensely.

Reached out to get my glass of water from bedside this morning and upended it over me, bed and floor, so bedding changed a little early....left bed to air and only remembered to remake at 9 o'clock....lucky I went upstairs as would have been really mad to make bed just as I wanted to get into it.

Bit out of touch with who is doing what, so hugs to all, stay safe and sleep well

Just got back from babysitting the fostergrandchildren, they were adorable, youngest one had a bedtime story, t'other one wanted a game of top trumps (I've sussed this game now & worked out how to lose quickly), they both went to sleep very fast & I spent the rest of the evening cuddling DD's 2 dogs who didn't approve of her going out, lol.
Cuddling the dogs, even the one that f@rts a lot, proved very soothing, just what I needed after a long week, mind you the week finished on a high note, the child that stabbed me in the leg with a pointed umbrella a year ago has finally had her marching orders after yet another assault, this time against a teacher.
Goodnight all.
See you in the morning.
Hugs Hester

Hello all!
Very long 2 days at work over, am having a wee glass of wine as I listen to OH snoring like a hog!
Great aunt is being moved to the nursing home FIL is in, they have NHS contracted beds so she will board there till assessed by social work dept for 24 hour care. Fine for me , can visit both of them, but miles away from the areas she has lived for all of her 89 years, and will take mum at least 2 buses to get there, so hopefully not for too long, but at least we know she is safe, warm, fed and being looked after, and mum isnt stressed out with her 20 phone calls an hour asking who and where she is! She's been very quiet and much more confused this week, although appears physically as though she will outlive us all!
OS wise have done nothing as out the door before 6am, didnt get home tonight till quarter to 10 as severe staff shortages all over the hospital! Will no doubt have several loads of washing waiting, will top up the fridge and freezer since its pay week, and hopefully read several free books on my kindle!
Hugs where needed, and I hope we all have a happy peaceful weekend!
RIP Iain
