monnagran wasn't it one of the great Oscars sayings, its sounds like it.I agree with it wholeheartedly.
Abcess is still there but the painkillers are helping a bit and its just a swollen lump at the moment I dropped into my dentists to give them the letter that Dentaline gave me(emergency dentist) and by the time I got home they were on the phone saying could I come in on Monday so he can have a look at it.Not bad considering on Tuesday morning the receptionist said there was no way I could see my dentist until mid February :):) Don't know if the surgery gets billed for it or not ?

Last night my 12 year old grandson asked if I could help him with his revision for a test.Yes I said no problem.Well we did the revision along with his sliightly younger brother Henry on reproduction and what women have to go through during pregnacy ,how they get pregnant and how the baby is born.Good job nothing phases me at all.I was quite pleased as the two boys were sensible and not giggling or smirking and as I said they can remember their Mum having the youngest Mikey so pregnant ladies and babies don't put them out at all.DD came home and said was it all right and did I mind .I said no not in the least as the boys were not embarrassed or silly they genuinely were quite interested in how babies arrived into the world and the eldest Jack had got all the correct names for the different times and months and how big the baby was at various times.DD said I'm glad you were with them Mum as I think I would have found it a bit awkward. But I have always told the boys the truth and never varnish it with nonsense.I think they appreciate it and know they can ask me anything and if I can I will answer them honestly.Jack did ask, which I thought was a good question 'If a Mum is having triplets does she have three placentas or one big one .I havn't got a clue I suppose one big one but perhaps someone on here knows as I said I would try to find out for him.
Ben said he did well in his exam which is good and I think he has another one next Tuesday then all three of his science ones are done.
I have History club this afternoon so I'm off to have some lunch
    Have a good day everyone

Re the placentas. It depends whether they are identical as if they came from one egg that splits they share one placenta. If non identical they come from two separate eggs and sperm or three in the case of triplets and thus have separate placenta. Most likely to be three separate eggs thus three separate placentas but could be a combi of an egg that splits - share a placenta and one egg that separately fertilised.

I think it depends if identical triplets or not - identical is one placenta and fraternal is two for twins and three for triplets but can be difficult to tell at a glance.

Good luck with the abcess - I had this a few times and not fun.

Having a quiet day and trying not to go to shops for bits and bobs. DH is digging up leeks from garden and I am going to make leek and potato soup for later. Had a brainwave and took out five pottery dishes from freezer with home made pie, stuffed pancake or lasagne in them to defrost and have for tonight. I took a leaf out of JackieO's book and whenever I could I cooked an extra portion, popped it in a poundshop earthenware dish and froze it.

Hoping bad weather keeps off a bit longer so dh can drive me to Castleford tomorrow, stock up on eggs, bread, cheese, milk and loads of veg at Aldi and then have a look at the market there. Everytime I go to the supermarket prices have shot up again so decided to make full use of any trip to L*dl etc.

Hugs to all especially Molly, Lame Wolf,Loulou, JackieO and miffy

    Very quiet on here today.

Had to go to town this morning to pick up my prescription and DH did chuckle because he has 2 items (preventer and reliever inhalers) and I came away with a carrier bag full of stuff :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Didn't need any shopping so we came straight home and started to clear the bedroom ready for decorating over the weekend....There is so much carp in there  So we have had a major chuck out.
We had sleet here last night as well, and the forecast is a Siberian blast coming in  and I had heart failure over last month's gas bill :( swoon.
Well I am off to make a chicken stew for dinner

Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Gosh, it's quiet on here today, must be the snow! We had quite a heavy downfall yesterday but it turned to rain and then froze - cue a lot of de-icing of the cars this morning.

Went to view a house yesterday, lovely house underneath all the decoration. The sellers have been there for 44 years and I think the decor was out of date then! Polystyrene tiles on the ceiling, shag pile carpets, the lot. Will have to have a serious think about my own house, realistically it is far too big (6 bedrooms and only me and DD here) but I have put so much into it. Will have to let it go sometime.

DD came home from work with loads of freebies today - 4 large bars of soap, a novelty soap, shaving brush (handy for us 2 girls!!!) and 4 candles. She works in an up-market toiletry store and they were clearing out a lot of old/broken stock. In true OS style she said she could make use of all of them!

Anyway, have cleaned the bathrooms, hoovered all round and brought in a load of logs. The washing has gone on the airers and the heating is ON!

The weekend starts here, glass of vino for me tonight. Have a good weekend everyone, hope those feeling poorly/down feel better soon. Take care. XX
