I can't let it go on.......! Loubie's debt diary.

have you looked at the Capital One website to apply for a CC with 0% interest til April 2008? At least you won't be paying all that gut-wrenching interest, and remember to cut up the card as soon as you receive it!
I did this, and it really is uplifting knowing that you are not paying interest and every penny you pay to the card is coming off the true balance.
Good luck!

Nice to have you back loubie_lou. I'm glad you've got another permanent job now. Looks like you're off to a great start with a whopping amount off the debt.
I'm still here and after a few months of only minimum payments have managed to throw a nice wodge off my debt this week.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
Good job verbatim! If your having a lean period min payments is all they can ask for really isn't it!
Yeah i feel quite proud of myself that i've got off to a good start. Its only because i'm on a payment holiday with egg at the mo.
But i'm going to wait a few months till i think i won't be refused for a top up with egg because the cahoot loan is killing me! I'm getting charged £100 a month interest on it so it'll take me forver to pay it off!
Good luck to yourself with paying off your debts quickly!

The interest is a real killer. And so evil. It doesn't bear thinking about how much you'll actually pay back for a loan of x amount. Hope you get a lower interest option soon. Good luck with the egg application. You're no doubt wise to wait to give yourself the best chance.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -

What about getting an evening job for a couple of nights per week in a Bar or restaurant or Shopping Mall etc and use the extra income to clear a bit of your debt. I know this sounds (and is) hardwork when you already work full time, but increasing your income will help you rattle off some of those extra £'s. I worked in a Call Ctre once, and one of the girls who sat near me worked for the DSS in the day time, and did 20 hours in the Call Centre on evenings and weekends purely to clear her credit cards. You have to look at this as a temporary solution as its hard to sustain, but it is effective. She took home £500 + bonus's per month which made a big dent in the debt.
Best of luck - you are going in the right direction, and it can be done.0
