CP Plus LTD. help?

I've read through posts about CPPLTD, and the jist is not to pay. But. I parked in a 'buses only' section, where everyone parks at night, and totally forgot that I wasn't supposed to. So there is ground to the fine, that I was parked in a buses only lane. :(
The 14 day discount is up tomorrow and it's sods law that I will only be paid by tomorrow, so I'll probably have to pay the full amount.
I've been driving for a year, so I'm not really sure about the ins and outs of tickets etc. and don't want it put down. Does anyone have any advice? Should I just pay(which I have no qualms with, but it would leave me very much out of pocket)?

!!!!!!? What is the meaning of this 'Pay them'? Are you quite mad (sorry...)?

'Buses only section' on private land - you even say it like it's got some sort of authority behind it...surely you haven't come to this forum on MSE without reading the stickies and realising that any private 'tickets' are fake, a con trick which impersonates authority?

Do you send money by Western Union when you 'win' the Nigerian Lottery according to an email? Will you send me some money please, I know who you are after all (you are DucksaysMOO and there can't be many people in the UK with that name...!:D).

Why so many newbies now saying they want to pay a scammer? Are the sticky threads at the top if the forum that hard to find, read and understand?

'Welcome, please read before posting' would be a good starting point to learn about this scam. Play a game with the threads on the first page, how many times can you find the words 'ignore' and 'scam' typed about a private parking company (PPC)? Discuss.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I searched the forum for info about bus lanes and tickets, but nothing came up that was relevant. I know they all say ignore, but 99% it's because they stayed 2mins over the 2hr limit.
I always send my Uncle Jimbabwee Nonugook money when he needs flights to his sick wife in China. :p

Right. I'll throw it in the bin then. Cheers for the simple answer, haha.

Because there is no such thing as a private bus lane and it's not a real parking ticket either!

If you had searched for 'private parking ticket ignore' now that would have got thousands of results! Choose your keywords wisely...and give my regards to Uncle Jimbabwee Nonugook next time you send him money!

My guess that it's a private car-park which had a section marked on the ground for buses & coaches, which is as useful as double yellow lines on private line as in they don't mean sod-all.

Unless they can prove that by you parking there, the landowner has lost whatever the invoice amount is, it's an unlawful contractually penalty and can safety be ignored. Do not as Martin suggests make contact to "reject" the invoice.

Even if you did pay the reduced amount, they will come back asking for more money citing that for whatever reason payment was made late.

It's an ASDA car park with a bus stop and taxi/bus rest, it's a white box with 'buses only' on it, that was the only thing I was worried about. Thanks for your advice. :)

The owner of a car park can paint anything on the ground, like buses only or taxi's only or only blue cars here. We should try if possible do as the owners ask after all it's their land. However what they cant do is penalise you for not following their instructions.
What they try to do is mimic official rules and regulations in the hope that the majority pay these tickets, unfortunately a large percentage do!
