Side opening door, gas oven

Hi

I’m after buying a built in gas oven/grill with a side opening door.

But I am having a real problem locating one.

They all seem to be drop down doors, these days. Which are no good to me, as I can’t bend down.
Id be really grateful if anyone has any ideas/advice where I might be able to get one from? I have looked all over, and it’s proving to be a nightmare. As they are all fitted with drop down doors
Thanks in advance

  • Thanks for the replies guys.

Yes its very confusing lyndac40 when looking online at them.
I saw an advert on the TV once, where it looked like the oven opened at the top to drop down, but the bar actually pulled out on a hinge and opened the oven door sideways. So it can be quite deceiving.
Thanks tanith shall take a look at the site.

Can you build it in higher than floor level, IYSWIM? ie not under the hob?

  • Sadly not Savvy Sue, I also have a problem with my arms, So having a drop down door, just gets in the way, and I cant reach to put stuff in the oven.A side door means I can get closer to the oven face IYKWIM and put the stuff in.

OK, next question, does it HAVE to be a gas oven / grill? because there is a wider choice in electric.

That is what I was thinking Gas ovens seem to be a lot more expensive than electric. xxx
  • The only reason I was after a gas one, was for the grilling aspect. Are Electric grills any good?

I’ve always had gas. So I wasn’t sure.
With an electric grill, can you still do things like cheese on toast, chicken, sausages etc., , and they turn out ok?

Electric grills are fine and I think grill more evenly than gas... just my opinion of course.
