If it doesn't happen (and the 0.2% I seem to remember was a manual registration) I'll be bending their ear - and not letting go until it is paid.

Which is what everyone should do and I certainly will.

Just hope the Halifax doesn`t drag it`s heels with the transfer.

My transfer to virgin/Northern rock went extremely quickly (almost instantly).

If you want details of your halifax ISa then print it out before you transfer because they do not keep any historical information on line, so all your details will dissapear.

I would guess it`s more to do with VM/NR efficiency than Halifax`s.

Are you guys switching now from Halifax isa to Virgin. Virgin are 2.85% but my Halifax are 3% gross I am sure there is a slight bonus at end of year
  • Halifax have confirmed to me that, as I transferred the variable to a fixed before a year had elapsed, the interest accrued on the variable will attract 0% interest until the first year anniversary of the fixed.
So in other words they have my money for no cost.

You were correct. It has changed today, and my interest had been credited to my account! Wahey!

Can I just confirm that Halifax added the accrued interest to the capital sum for the new fixed ISA, as they have refused me and told me to contact the Ombudsman if I am not satisfied with the answer.
