  • If you've got the MS Office suite you could do it in Powerpoint. Here's an example I did of what you can create in it, and although not strictly a logo, it shows the potential.

WOW thats great and you did that in power point you say !!

Impressive I must have a looka t this powerpoint some more,

just wondering is this a template or something you designed on your own ?

How would I get to the design point in Powerpoint to begin something like this, is it simply a blank page then insert objects ?

    Thanks
  • Designed from scratch in Powerpoint 2010, modified segmented circle with custom arrow headers lined up by eye in 2d mode using the grid, text is created on a curved arc. The gears are taken from one of the smart art objects, disconnected from the original smart art re-positioned and custom 3d format + bevel + drop shadow applied. Arrowed circle was then 3d formatted grouped with text with opacity and drop shadow. Drop us a PM with your requirements and i'll have a blast at a logo for you, free of course.

  • Have you checked out fiverr.com ? Loads of talented people all over the world who will do a job for $5. A woman in the states designed a logo for my cake business (it looks excellent) for the princely sum of £3.46 paid by paypal :D

People post examples of their work - you should check it out, there's lots of weird and wonderful stuff too!

As it is I have just come up with a company logo for myself and everybody loves it, I did mine in photoshop, yes its not vector based so I just did it very high resolution and downscale for my needs.

Oddly mine just came to thinking of a company name and the logo just appeared in my head.

If there is anything I can do to help let me know.

I'll happily knock you one up in photoshop, for the cost of a couple of beers if you like it!

Yeah ... have a play in PowerPoint or Word for that matter ...
    • Insert a Diagram ... (doesn't matter about the type of diagram you can change that later if you want to)
    • Add a few labels (key words or your company name)
    • Then apply different Styles, colours, shadows
Even if you don't use what you create ... you'll have learnt a bit more about Word/PowerPoint so nothing lost! :)

I think with logos, you get what you pay for. Hiring a professional designer will cost upwards of $1000 but for that you will get a better result than a crowdsourced marketplace or any other lower priced solutions.

Yes and no, a good logo can be absolutely free, mine was after a moment of inspiration and people really do think its a professional job.
